Match Topic Liverpool vs Newcastle - League Cup Final, 16th March @ 4:30pm

I am not saying that but Slot has to take a large portion of the blame. We have looked completely flat in midfield for the last 3 matches. Why not start Harvey or Jones in the final or at least change formation where Harvey actually plays in the front 3 or just off them. -

It was a poor performance today. Disappointed that we have not really turned up in the last 3 marches. The team has been physically and mentally drained, and it’s been clear that a bit of energy completely changes our performance—just like against Southampton. Slot should have learned his lesson, but he has mismanaged the squad. It was obvious and didn’t take an expert to see. The Gakpo substitution against PSG still doesn’t make sense. How do you put an injured player on the pitch over a fresh one in such a crucial moment? It’s shocking decision-making that has cost us. At this stage of the season, managing fitness and making the right calls is everything. -

If rumours are true, can’t believe we rejected a bid for him in January. -

That shouldn’t be the reason we lose the league. You can point to so many other reasons: Newcastle away, Fulham at home, scum at home, owners not investing in the summer or during the winter break. -

For me the points we dropped against Fulham and Utd at home are worse. Win those matches and we are 11 points clear. We have made a habit of conceding late goals when we were so good at managing games early on. i would have preferred to have been much further ahead than Arsenal. Looking at their run in vs ours, they have a much easier one and potentially all winnable games except forest. Ours is brutal: villa away, city away, Chelsea away, Fulham away, Newcastle at home, bitters again and then we play Arsenal at home. -

Bournemouth 3-0 now. Look like a proper team -
Was he also commando or is that going a bit too far?
-
Are you Richard Hughes or Edwards? There is no one out there to improve our squad
-
That’s another d****eadish way of saying we are not signing anyone in this summer as we never had any intention to. For the record, Salah was plan B, Mane was plan B. Look how they turned out. I hope they are scrimping and saving so they can sell and f*ck off.
-
Yeah exactly. Well that’s what we keep getting told “if there is someone who is better than our current squad, then we will buy them.” Clearly, there is no one out there better than Endo or any of our other midfielders.
-
Not really an accurate comparison. The other two have a much stronger base and squad than us. Rodri is the best holding midfielder and Rice the 2nd best. Both those teams have a deeper squad than us. We have Endo and then dicking around with Gravenberch and any other midfielder we have that doesn’t quite fit there. Only Alexis McAllister gets in the City or Arsenal midfield from our lot.

Fair enough. But I doubt he would have left 2 years before his contract was ending looking completely beaten down. These c*nts just didn’t realise how lucky they were and what they had in their hand.
-
Yea he was. These t***s accelerated his break. When you are having to punch well above your weight time and again on a shoe string budget, going up against City, it drains even the best. If Klopp had been properly backed, I am convinced he would have stayed beyond 2026.

I would in a heartbeat. I would much rather have owners willing to spend. It will give me confidence that you can attract a top class manager who knows the owners will back him, rather than having minge bag owners who think this is a corporate that increases the value of their assets rather than a football club that exists to win trophies. They chased a world class manager away because of their f*cked up thinking. Maybe Alonso saw something when he decided to stay at Leverkusen.
