  1. Some of the prices teams are placing on their players is insane. Reckon it will be a slow summer as clubs struggle to negotiate down teams unless the PSR 30th June presents some opportunities. Trouble is, if this summer is a rebuild we need the players in as early as possible to mould into a team.
  2. We've all become a lot more angry at players for their life choices. When Rush went, be it I was a kid at the time I just couldn't understand how it was possible. Wasn't really angry. I do remember him doing an April fools joke in Shoot magazine where he was decked out in Everton kit pretending he had moved to them. Could you imagine that happening now? Salah decked out in UTD Kit as an April Fool? In Italy it seems players go to their rivals more frequently and it is more accepted even with the Ultras fan culture.
  3. Can't see us spending 45m on kerkez 40m on Frimpong who is more of a winger than multifunctional fullback. No matter our budget or sales can't see us spending so much on full backs. Reckon the right back will be a youngster as Backup to Bradley. That feyenord lad Read.

Yep I think so too though oscillate between despair and hope. Will have a major impact on who we can attract to replace them. No longer do they get to play with 3 world class players but it is a rebuild, a complete reset with all the uncertainty around that. Only saving grace is that a lot of teams in the same position. both manc teams in the same reset position, Chelsea is a basket case and Arsenal will carry on buying centre backs instead of strikers and a goalkeeper. I think that is exactly it. We have made them offers they have said not quite there yet and we have said go win the league have a look what else is out there and we will talk again once you have the juicy bonus from winning the league.
  5. Not that outlandish. Three are out of contract and we can't force them to sign. Must have been a conversation with Alli last year otherwise it made no sense to go for Mama fir £25m if we are not going to play him for 2 seasons. Does seem with klopps announcement last Jan, Alli took it as an end of an era and a good time to go and we possibly said fine but give us a year to get a replacement. We then get maybe £60m from Saudi
  6. He is but we have an option for another year to 2027. Think he could be off this summer, we are not the type of club to have a 25m back up keeper, so either Mama goes on loan to a PM team or Alli gets sold
  7. What do we reckon for the summer? Can't see Mama being bought for £25m to sit on the bench so does that mean Allison is off to Saudi for big money to get the BBQ crew back together or is the plan to send Mama to a PL team on loan for a season then flog Allison next summer?
  8. Can't see Newcastle selling Isaak. Won a trophy, likely to push on and grab a CL place and Saudis will want to start having Newcastle next seen as a big club. Maybe Saudis buying Diaz and Nunez for big money is to encourage us to look elsewhere think they'd flog Gordon to us though.....
  9. I don't think his passing is snappy enough, takes a bit too long to make the pass, fair point about Enrique. Just get the impression that Slott has gone off Him a little bit recently with going off a couple of times with fatigue/cramp. Just a feeling. Happy for it to be complete bulls if it means him staying, think he's great.
  10. Torben piechnic https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Torben_Piechnik
  11. Ekiteke hat trick for the u21s tonight, in same game, Elliott, Delap, Cherkis also scored. Still think the Bellingham argument will be made again this year, we can't spend £130m plus £300k a week wages on Isaak when we will probably need a few new forwards. Ekiteke does look like a Slott forward based on what he says he wants in a number 9
  12. 1 yr left on contract though.
  13. I have a horrible feeling we flog him this summer to PSG. One year left, we won't go that high on wages, I don't feel his injury record/resilience is enough for Slott and more worryingly I reckon his passing isn't what Slott is looking for. A really good offer from PSG, £50m, means he is sold.

The only thing making feel optimistic is that they haven't signed a pre contract with anyone else yet and if they had there would be more links and news reports..but nothing. I think we have made an offer they have said not good enough and we have said go win the league and we will talk after that and go and see if the grass really is greener elsewhere. And if you get a serious injury you always have the offer we have on the table now.... I think we are confident that a little bit more gets it done after we win the league
  15. Linked to an 18yr old RB from Feyenord. Read. No idea either. I suspect the data guys are crunching their numbers and maybe they can identify another bargain like Robinson. I worry that with the likely exits, it is a huge rebuilding exercise and I can't see us getting the quantity of deals needed over the line in time meaning we are going to have lots of gaps in the team and squad. We are going to have to take risks and we can't miss. Hopefully we go for Ekiteke, could be a another firmino but with pace.....
  16. Baleba may have joined brighty young enough to qualify as home grown? If we lose TAA, kelleher, Gomez, Elliot, we are going to have to target (and pay the premium) for homegrown players. See why Frimpomg maybe desirable. Can't see us signing Isaak, fee and wages too high. Hopefully we are looking at Ekiteke.

Not just Konate. If those 3 go I can see Allison joining his Brazil buddies in Saudi, getting the BBQs back, especially with his successor joining in the summer.
  18. Extending the stand would be with modern day costs, what £130m+ ?for what 15000 extra seats? Can't see it.... but if the mancs do build that 100k seat monstrosity then we'll need to do something
  19. He seems a slott type player to me so i.must be missing something. The way he tracked back yesterday and made that tackle, all action, 2 footed, direct, technically seems sound, one shot one goal. Maybe he isn't strong enough and won't win his duels? He seems a good lad, supportive on the bench, not a sulker. There must be something that we just don't see behind closed doors.
  20. I see parallels with Mane's last season with us. Mane wasn't as effective on the wing, moved more centrally and his intelligence got him goals and assists not his athleticism. I see this a bit in Salah, he struggles to get away from his man but his intelligence has helped him score and assist tonnes. All a mute point, whatever contract we give him, if his legs go we can always sell to Saudi for more than any new contract would cost us. A new contract makes sense from a business perspective
  21. He will get a new contract. Iirc they gave Klopp a really long contract (7years?) pretty sub after joining as they realised they struck gold. Think the same will happen with Slott. Winning the league (assuming) in his first season, following an all time great in Klopp.is a hell of an achievement.
  22. I have a nagging feeling our squad strategy has changed. Last few seasons we have fallen off a cliff around march. I think they want to go from a smallish squad with a few elite highly paid players to a larger younger squad with decent but not elite paid players. I can see the 3 leaving this summer and even Allison to Saudi to reunited with his BBQ buddies. That's all our players on massive wages gone. When slott was appointed I remember reading feyenord fan views and they loved him and said he was ruthless when it came to moving players on that didn't fit how he wanted things I can even see Konate going to PSG. The one thing I can see stopping such a massive turnover on players is that we notoriously expect top whack for our sales and spend soo much time trying to negotiate incoming fees down limiting what we will be able to do in the time Also can't see us spending £120m on Isak. Similar scenario to Bellingham where we'd much rather get 3 players in on total less wages than one Isak on huge wages even if we flog Diaz and Nunez to Saudi. Hopefully we go for Ekiteth from Frankfurt, he seems a slot type no.9
  23. 35, 16, 15, 10? =76.
