  1. SPOT ON!
  2. It will be catastrophic and so unfair if he does not win the PL or World Player of the year in his career.
  3. Well, that's the beauty of football....you have your opinion and I have mine! He scored a goal and that for me counts
  4. 1. agger 2. Lucas 3. Pennant
  5. Man U drew at home 0-0 last season against Reading at the same stage of the season...and guess what, they won the league and the CL!!! Next week we will beat Everton and we will be back on track!
  6. "He is a lucky man, again winning over United," Benitez said. It was the only thing he got wrong all day. In the league, Liverpool are back and luck had nothing to do with it. Love that bit of the article
  7. For me, been the best in the PL for a long time. I like him and feel confident with him if we have to defend a corener, free kick and even penalties. Would not swap him with Buffon or Casillas.
  8. He was injured at the end and still made a superb tackle.....he just hates being second best.
  9. Not sure if this is the place for this, but Andy Gray, once again can't keep his mouth f###ing shut!! After we scored the first goal his comment: "If you can't be a good manager, be a lucky one"....what a tw#t!
  10. Masch - Xabi - Arbeloa -
  11. Surely the sign of a good team is when they play badly, they still win....and we have done that. Anyone on this forum would have taken 2 narrow PL wins and progress to the CL regardless of performanc or the manner it was achieved before a ball was kicked this season....and as much as it hurts to remember...but didn't the scum draw 2 and lost one at the begening of last season and they ended up with the CL and PL double!!!! Having said all of that....something is wrong with the balance of our team, which I hope that Mascharano will positively influence on Sunday.

  13. I have done an engineering degree and 90% of the theory I read, is not applied in practice! While this is an excellent post, it remains theory for me. The acid test for me is of we outplay and beat Man U next season. This has been the yeard stick for me over the past few years. It hurt that on so many occasions under Rafa, we failed to match them and lost convinceingly (except for one or two occasions max). This is why I don't want to put too much emphasis on theortical concepts. I love Rafa, I love what he is building in Liverpool, and I have no doubt that he is a long term manager with great thoughts for the present and the future......BUT I just want him sometimes to take more risk, play with instinct, win and not worry about doing it scientifically or mathematically!!
  14. don't think we should fear any team...we are class act in europe under Rafa and he will have us well prepared even if it is a tie against A. Madrid! I think we will be there regardless of who we play although my choice is Anorthosis Famagusta FC (CYP) / SK Rapid Wien (AUT)
  15. What I hope is a PL + CL Double What I accept is 2nd in PL (but not behind the scum or Arsenal) with couple of point difference, another CL semi final (although it will break my heart) and a silverware What I expect is 3rd place in PL and Quarter Final exit in CL And sadly Rafa's last season in charge!
  16. That implies the most recent and expensive English football export (Beckham) followed closley by Jonathan Woodgate! I don't agree with your statement..I just think that English footballers are thick, boring and dull! Even when the try to be contreversial, e.g. Joey Barton!
  17. Also and not stereotyping here...but I look forward to watching the spanish, russian, swedish, czech and yes even the german babes in the stands...and what do England fans have to offer....fat, bald headed hooligans with tatooes!!! Euro 2008 babes
  18. I know....I am at the top
  19. I did not mean that he will cause conflict or break the team spirit, but simply not to be "The Emperor's New Clothes" type of person! Every one thought that Pako did that very well without undermining Rafa's authority.
  20. On the positive side, he knows the club inside out and will get on well with the players and keep the tradition of the clubs. He also speaks fluent spanish! On the negative side, could be a step forward and may be not someone to really challenge Benetiz enough! Can't make up my mind! 21. I love your replies....they all make perfect sense. "IN RAFA WE TRUST"
  22. I have not read every post on this thread, but let's think positive! Riise scored a crucial goal against Barca last year, he scores a fantastic free kick against the Manc when we beat them 3-1, he scored few nice goals against Chelsea in the past....and I hope he can pull one out of the blue on Wedensday..... I don't have a short memory like others, I feel for the guy and I really hope he redeems himself on Wedensday.... and I am not his mom or dad!
  23. ABSOULTELY!

    Pennant

For me he comes on a sub with Crouch for Babel and Kuyt in the second half. But if pushed, Kuyt is the only replacement really if we start with Penannt...although really unfair on Kuyt considering his performance on Tuesday
