  1. His confidence grew with every touch. Still young, need to improve his first touch and winning headers from high balls considering his height. Positives, held the ball well, made himself available for a pass, and linked well with Kuyt and Yossi.
  2. Sorry, I am not doubting you, I wish I can believe it. Hypothetically, what point total do you think will win the league this season? If we win all our games it is 88 points. I think 85 is on the low side, but even that means we can only afford to lose one game from now till the end of the season! It will be great achievement by us (and a great collapse by the scum), but I can't see it happening.
  3. I don't understand the logic of this argument: We are 4 points behind Man U who have 2 games in hand and we have no chance Chelsea are 4 points behind Man U, the race is still on! How does that work Mr. Richard Keys
  4. You are wrong! Peter Reid just said that Man Utd have won it, and according to Alan McInally, Liverpool (team and fans) will do "hand stands, HAND STANDS" if we finish second! Don't tell me you know more than Redknapp, Reid and McInally!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  5. Mascharano, my hero
  6. Ok, this the challenge, name alternative players that fit the bill and let's say you have (7M + 12M + 3M + 6M + 2M) + 20M (that would be available for Rafa probably to spend in the summer) = 50M Can you seriously buy 6 world class quality players for 50M? you will be lucky to get 3 quality players for the money. It is a dilemma, and as I said before, I would go for quality rather than quantity, but I still doubt that will win us the PL with a thin squad!
  7. I did not disagree with alias75...in fact I am an advocate of quality versus quantity.
  8. That was the point I made on another thread. First choice 11, we are on par with any team in Europe Squad quality, definitely short. This is why we can win the CL, but will struggle with the 38 game PL. I take my hat off for Rafa for his achievements in the league despite the limited resources and the power struggle.
  9. No sorry, you may have misunderstood my point. I was talking about financial capability and yes both Villa and Arsenal have more money than us. I was giving credit to Rafa to say that despite the financial position, he has done well with our position in the league, our performances in the CL, and to a certain extent, the quality of the squad players he brought in.
  10. Until he has money to spend and strengthen every position, otherwise, you will always get mediocre players. Rafa tried to bolster the squad this season for the 38 game marathon and he went for quantity rather than quality.I am still not convinced the other option of quality rather than quantity would have paid off. Bottom line, we are poor compared to Villa, Arsenal, Man U and Chelsea and we just can't bring the required quality to every position in the team and have quality back up in the squad.
  11. Crouch wanted guaranteed first team football and Rafa could not assure him of that. I think If Crouch would have been happy to be rotated and played 60-70% of games, Rafa would have kept him. It was Crouch's choice to leave. Also, we are not rich, in fact we are skint, Elzahr and Ngog are cheap squad players. We can't compete with United for example spending in the transfer window 18M on players no one heard of. Babel, was good last year, showed alot of promise and this summer he will probably be shipped. But don't crictice Rafa, just rewind your memory to few days ago and the amazing win at the Bernabue. Rafa is doing an amazing job with the resources. But like Brian Little said (which was the only thing that make sense in 94 minutes of commentary), "if you lose as a manager, you lose every argument after the game".
  12. Worst performance under Rafa...a crime really and may as well hand the trophy to the scum now....F****** HELL
  13. Riena Yossi Lucas Those are the only 3 that did not contribute to the crime today!
  14. I'm watching the Setanta stream. He is S****. It must be a requirement by Setanta that you are s*** at commentating and hate Liverpool FC!
  15. Why, just why you listen to this s****! Has you conversation with Cesar the Geezer not taught you anything!
  16. True, but at the same time, the CL is not a worthless friendly competition with mediocre clubs. The PL and CL are different competitions with different strengths required. CL I believe require tactical awareness and probably very good 11 players (or may be 13) The PL require less tactics, more physical and definitely a large squad of may be 18-20 quality players specially over the last 5 yeas or so hence why Chelsea and Man U have dominated it recently and Arsenal have faltered and we have not been able to catch up. Off course I want Liverpool to win the PL, but the CL by no means a second rate consolation cup.

    Torres

You mean like falling of the podium when he collects his PL champions medal
  18. I don't....I think they are real boring with old farts who know nothing about football probably, just statistics.

    Torres

Spain are involved in the cup of nations this summer and Torres will be involved, so he may not have a lengthy rest!
  20. Now the euphoria of the CL is over, it is back to the bread and butter stuff on Saturday. I still believe the PL is more than a possibility and a realistic dream. The team that face a resurgent Boro on Saturday must be strong, focused and sure of getting the 3 points on a ground where over the years we have struggled to win. I would like to see the same team that played in Madrid, with no changes except for Babel coming for Torres if he is out. Another must win game and anything else is not an option.
  21. Crouch....never rated him, but his touch, finishing and ball holding was really good, and was really sad to see him go. I still think would have been a good option for us this season, but I guess he never wanted to be on the bench. The ones that disappointed me the most when I really wanted them to join us in the order of biggest failure: Diouf: I spent millions on him in my fantasy football team at the time Collymore Morientes And as much as I hate him, I was happy to see Cantona join the scum at the time thinking he will be a disruptive influence with his attitude and history....well huge mistake!
  22. Yossi Masch Fabio Sorry Xabi, any other day, you would have topped the chart! but those 3 were supermen in Madrid yesterday
  23. How I would love to play the Manc and beat them. They are the only team we have yet to play and win in the CL.
  24. Sounds positive, but what does it mean! just intrigued.
