  1. Just because Iraq has been in wars does not mean that they have a bad team. In addition, Asian football receive little coverage compared to African football, hence why British fans have little knowledge of the quality and depth of Asian football. Despite the number of African players playing in Europe and despite the fact that African teams tend to do better on the world stages, when paired together, statically, Asian teams have always had the measure of African teams on both national and club levels. Iraq surprised many in 2004 Olympic games getting to the semi final and only losing narrowly to a a very strong Italian team in the semi final. Similarly, when the won the Asian cup, the surprised many by beating a star studded Australian team, a very strong south Korean team and playing the best attacking football in the competition and it was definitely not as fluky as the Danish win of Euro92. I am going for an Iraq win against SA by 2-1.
  2. Mine too. A LEGEND in every sense of the word. Pity he never graced Europe in his prime.
  3. A black day in the history of the club, but never forget these facts: "It can be argued that the Heysel Stadium Tragedy really began the year before. Liverpool had reached the European Cup Final for the fourth time in their history. The Final was to be held on the home ground of their opponents, AS Roma. After a tense game, Liverpool won in a penalty shoot-out. What received rather less coverage was the roaming scooter gangs hunting down Liverpool supporters, stabbing and slashing dozens, many of whom were family groups returning to hotels in the area. One 13-year-old boy was almost ripped apart, needing 200 stitches in his face alone. Many hoteliers refused to let their English guests in, either out of spite or for fear of subsequent attacks on their premises. There was little protection from the Italian Police, who routinely attacked and robbed English supporters in revenge for the defeat of the local team. That night, many desperate English fans, deserted by Italian coach drivers booked to drive them to Rome airport, sought sanctuary at the British Embassy. After the events in Rome, club rivalries in England had been put aside: Juventus were to catch the full fury of the English hooligan elite. It should be understood that not just Liverpool hooligans were present. There were contingents from a great many firms all over the country, from Luton MIGS to Millwall Bushwackers, West Ham ICF and Newcastle Toon Army."
  4. In fact i am counting the seconds....can't wait for next season to start
  5. how can this week get better 1. United get humiliated in Rome 2. Best striker in the world extends his contract 3. ? ( I hope it is either the red nose quitting his job, or the obnoxious brat off to Real)

  9. On a serious note...what a first season for Guardiola! 3 major trophies....how can you follow that? Also playing football the way it should be played. Well done Barca
  10. What hurts most, is this average team, yes average team won the PL this year. They have not played a decent side since they played us at OT and it is the same result, utter humiliation!
  11. Ronaldo's last game for the mancs, can't see the tw** staying with them.
  12. If Barca continue to play like that, I may have an orgasm soon!
  13. Scholes, a f***ing dirty nasty bag of sh**e!

  19. Would be good to seen Keane getting sent off tomorrow. May be for handling the ball on the line or something!
  20. So are you saying that for 15-20M you can't get better players than Arbeloa or Reira? I am sure you can, that would be an improvement and therefore we are not perfect. It is probably the difference between being a Mercedes or a Bentley
  21. That's probably the same argument many of the pundits on tv put forward as the difference between us and Utd. XI vs XI, not much to choose between. But as a squad, we are thinner than them considerably. hard to argue with that on paper at least, but our points tally and considering that both us and the scum played around 50 games each having missed Gerrard and Torres playing together for a significant amount of the season does not reflect that in reality. You could even argue that if Pepe is injured long term then we are snookered next year and add that to the list. I personally think that considering our finanical situation and the fact that we will not be able to buy 5-6 world class players in the positions suggested, should put our eggs in one (or 2 baskets) max and buy the best our money can get in 2 positions, RB and LM.
