Sorry Ant, while I respect your opinion, I still disagree. You knee jerk reaction is more akin to the likes of Man City and Newcastle. They chopped and changed and specially the latter and look where they are now and if it was not for the Arab investment, City would have been in similar position. Many before the start of last season, thought we were at least 2 year away from realistically challenging for the title, but our form specially in the 2nd half of the season could be argued gave false hopes to this season. The challenge last season and the hope for this season were built on the assumption that the limited funds that Rafa has had would continue. But even that had dried up in the summer. People ignore that it is not only last summer, but the previous 3 or 4 years, we have struggled to compete in the transfer market with the likes of Chelsea, Man U and even Villa and Spurs, yet we continued to bridge the gap on the top 2 last year and we were officially the No 1 club in the European chart. This season is a set back, but Rafa in the previous 4 years has demonstrated IMO enough technical astuteness, capability and style to be given the chance at least until the end of the season. Knee jerk reactions will not get us any where, or perhaps may lead us to where Leeds and Newcastle are now. If you think that a top manager like Hiddink will come to Liverpool because of the brand name, you are wrong. No manager will be willing to jeopardize his reputation in the knowledge that no funds are available for him to revamp the team.
