NEW: Liverpool are looking to strengthen defensively this summer. Uncertainty surrounds the future of Ibrahima Konate. He only has one year remaining on his current deal, with talks over an extension dragging on. There has also been speculation over Jarell Quansah. However, Liverpool insist he isn’t for sale. [@JamesPearceLFC] If Konate left to be replaced by Huijsen it wouldn't be strengthening.

Winning the European Cup is seen as the pinnacle of club football. It'd be fair if the English media celebrated Arsenal doing it. -

Agree. I think he's been very consistent when he's played. He's been close to his best for a large part of the season.

Konate has been as consistent as Van Dijk this season. Both have had a few mad games but generally been brilliant.

Konate is in top 5 centre backs in the league. I was going to say top 3 but I'm sure there's others who play class when I don't watch.

I agree. I'm sceptical we'll be buying someone for good money to be his back up. Apparently they thought Yoro was amazing but he was too expensive to be a back.
