  1. We were trying to blam it in loads yesterday yes, it was called panic.
  2. Probably within the context of being 1-0 down as opposed to it being 1-1 yeah.
  3. Shooting from distance and creating patterns of play designed to shoot from distance isn’t the same thing though.
  4. It’s also what a team who leave no space behind want you to do. Cos the most likely outcome is you get to take 90 seconds to take a goal kick. Not sure how much you think we’re going to get for either of them but it certainly wouldn’t be what you’d need to fund a “big fee”.
  5. Shooting from outside the box is something we don’t do by design though. It’s an Analytics thing. It isn’t that we haven’t got the player and should get him, it’s that we don’t want the player to do that.
  6. He hasn’t. He’s just s***.
  7. We haven’t sold a genuine first team player for profit for nearly four years.
  8. Great Anthony Taylor moment in the first half. Gives us a free kick, outs the ball down, sprays the line and marches out and sprays a line for the wall. He took seven paces. Seven. What hope have we got if these bellends can’t measure ten yards or use a watch?
  9. The idea that Michael Gordon sits there and says things like ‘yeah we should go with 3 centre backs’ is quite clearly a ridiculous theory to have. You can’t seriously think they sit there and decide what players we need or don’t need.
  10. Kante went off as well and he had 15 minutes to talk the players through it i as opposed to shouting from the sideline.
  11. Hope they didn’t pay someone for these. The Silva one looks more like Dalglish.
  12. No. Not like if we have an unprecedented injury crisis that no one can do much about. Wouldn’t bother even giving last season a moments thought. We recouped about £40m and spent about £110m, while not bringing in any ticket money for a year. Not really sure it’s some huge travesty in the current climate.
  13. In the last 12 months when we’ve not been arsed about spending money we’ve still signed three £30m + footballers. Stop panicking about three years down the line, cos it’ll be fine.
  14. If it won’t work under many other managers we pay our players way too much. And no, not by selling the family silver. We’ll just use the money we make to buy them with, like we did in 2017 and 2018 but haven’t needed to do since.
  15. Reckon we do one next summer and one the summer after and then in 23/24 we’ve got Salah and Jota + 2. Which is fine really.
  16. It’s a weird dynamic The Athletic, because people subscribe for specific sports and sometimes stray in to others. Wouldn’t surprise if they did that type of thing because they thought some LA Angels fan who knows nothing heard something about Ronaldo and decided he’d read it. Company yacht to every Greek Island.
  17. Just think of the stuff you could get through on expenses.
  18. This is from a piece in the athletic. Hahaha. What a mess they are. When news filtered through on Thursday evening that, to Manchester United’s horror, Cristiano Ronaldo really had agreed to join Manchester City, manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer spoke with his inner circle and knew United had to act. Solskjaer recognised that beyond the playing aspects for Pep Guardiola’s side across town, seeing Ronaldo pull on the blue shirt of City would have wider consequences for United. To allow a legendary United figure to turn out for their local rivals without a fight would damage the club in the eyes of current players, potential recruits, and supporters. Conversely, Solskjaer pictured the benefits re-signing Ronaldo could bring to his squad, one of the youngest in the Premier League, with his ultra-professionalism and elite pedigree. Solskjaer placed a call to chief executive Ed Woodward with one aim — he wanted to know if United could do the deal instead. It was a quick conversation. Woodward agreed instantly and set about negotiating with Ronaldo’s Italian club, Juventus.
  19. If they want to spend £20m a year on wages on a 36 year old who doesn’t run then let them. If we did that I wouldn’t think we’d made a statement, I’d think we were stupid and be asking why we didn’t sign Harry Kane instead.
  20. Whatever statement it is, they’ve signed players with more to offer than him that didn’t work and they were big statements too. Ronaldo at 36 from a side who didn’t want him, just isn’t that big a statement.
  21. Was this tonight or delayed from when they signed Angel Di Maria? Might be the day signed Alexis Sanchez too.
  22. This summer and last summer there’s been 11 in total. Was 9 the summer before before the world changed. Jota was one of the 20 though.
  23. And our 3 Wednesday games are two home games, and a Sunday game at West Ham.
  24. Would like to think there’s a good chance of 6 points from the first 2 games.
