  1. 3 more points! The confidence will come back once the wins roll in. And we can say that confidently because we have the right mentality in our approach to playing our football. Balance of the team needs to be better though. Lucas was definitely missed. Poulsen did a decent job. We need Gerrard further up the pitch.
  2. Hard done by - our boys clearly trying to wind him up. Good job!
  3. Mods - can we make this thread sticky?
  4. Is there functionality to ignore a thread like you do individual posters? Everytime I see this thread at the top of the list I just want to ignore it, yet can't help but open it.
  5. Which is why nowadays I just take everything opposition managers say as a PR exercise. I do however find Ferguson's analysis of his rivals at the start of the season to be quite interesting, and seemingly accurate. Off the top of my head he predicted we weren't strong enough at the start of last season, and saying we overachieved the previous one. He commented about Chelsea's squad being old and not quite having enough at the start of 08/09. And that City don't have it in them to overtake hist team yet. If Hodgson had actually embraced the club like every LFC manager in the past has, I suspect he'd still be here. So I'm actually thankful that he didn't.
  6. He's Portuguese, so his name actually sounds more like "Hchra-ooul". I understand that the R is emphasised quite strongly. Same spelling, different language and rather different pronounciations. For example, Jose: In Portuguese, Jose is prounounced more like "Jzhou-zeyh". Pepe's formal name is pronounced "Ho-say". Jorge: Portuguese = "Jzhorge". Spanish = "Hor-hey"
  7. Shared, and by many I would suspect. In Kenny's first game in charge he lined up deeper than Meireles for the most part even though they did interchange a couple of times. That he constantly demands the ball and half the time overplays passes - spraying it wide when the pass is the short ball - is the clearest indication for me that he needs to be deployed further up the pitch. Fundamentally you want your most skillful and dangerous goal threats to be closer to opposition goal than your own. Most advanced of a three man midfield for me, all day everyday.
  8. And Rafa. Poulsen and Lucas in the opposition box at one time in the first half.
  9. My mind is in the gutter this morning, and your choice of words are clearly not helping me escape...

    Kenny

I'm constantly thinkning that if we had hired Kenny in the summer and not had to go through 6 months of that fraud, I would not be as grateful and relieved as I am now. I'd still be blown away by how he handles the media though.
  11. It's downloading! Cheers buddy.
  12. Was just going to express my gratitude but the link doesn't seem to work...
  13. Apparently we can't recall, only if Gala decide they don't want him anymore. And wasn't there reports about Hagi wanting to clear out the loaned players? I'm a fan, but then I always have a soft spot for "footballing" defenders who can't defend that well.

    Kenny

You'd have thought that Comolli is there to ensure that the right players are brought in regardless of the manager, although Cole and Huth etc were rumoured to be incoming if fraudson was still here. Can I say how good it feels that fraudson is gone, and that I can be in love with my club again?
  15. Good point about being slower defending than attacking - I think if he is less passive/reactive and more aggressive in his mentality when defending we'll see an improvement. He put in an excellent defensive display against Man Utd at Anfield last season so it's not as if it's beyond his abilities.
  16. Isn't he a Liverpool fan? There were quotes going around some months back...
  17. He's an excellent player. When he puts his mind and heart to it, he's a force. Tall, fairly quick and is very underrated on the ball. Can finish as well, for me as a loan signing he's as good as we'll find.
  18. Boardman asked if Comolli knew about this and I'm not sure Ben Smith responded... In any case, given his display on Sunday I'm sure most would have been furious had Agger been moved on.

    Backroom staff

There's someone missing from your list. A 22 year old who was highly thought of but not yet a superstar. Signed for a pretty sizeable fee, but proved to be integral to the success of the club.
  20. According to Tony Barrett he cost over 4m - I'm hoping that was inclusive of Dalla Valle and Kacaniklic. Good Lord...
  21. You have a good point. However, I don't really care what he will say, because as LFC manager he was a fraud. I'd love to erase him from our history books if I had my way - it's been emotional. What a horrible 6 months. I felt uneasy about that appointment from day one. Now with Kenny at the helm, it feels so right. In a month we'll have forgotten about him, not least because most of us are so eager to do so.
  22. He has hasn't he? Although it did come true anyway, Hodgson's departure.
  23. If this happens, we are well and truly back to doing things The Liverpool Way. In any case, Happy New Liverpool!
  24. Allardyce pointed out that he was quite far from the incident, and did not have a good angle. He was dying to give it.
  25. Except I think it says "verified account"...
