  1. I won't be greedy. I will settle for a 3-2 win now...in next year's fixture. I want to give these a proper whipping.
  2. BRING ON ANDY CARROLL NOW!!!!
  3. Fabio would have eaten up this free kick. BUT DIRK GETS HIS HATTRICKKKKKKK!!!!!
  4. We are sitting way too deep and not pressing them. And when we have the ball we're a little too rushed - need a calm head to hold on to the ball.
  5. Game is WAY too open at 2-0 with only an hour gone. We need to play with better tactical discipline. And Dowd is going to get them back in the game with that ridiculous free kick.

That's why I am still upbeat even though we had drawn against Wigan.
  7. I think we have a readymade relacement in Wilson (in 2-3 years) from what little I've seen of the lad. Maybe not as good bringing the ball forward but very similar in style. Hope he develops as expected.
  8. Surely I'm not the only one who thinks that Suarez would have been very good with Torres if he'd stayed? As for first impressions, his one touch link up play is what really stood out for me - even on his debut vs Stoke. Likes to lay off the ball and move into space.
  9. Had a bad feeling about the game this morning - at least we didn't lose. Wigan were pretty good I have to say. Meireles lasting just over half the game, Gerrard and Agger not making the pitch really hurt us. We definitely need better midfield cover - we weren't dominant enough there today. Even Shelvey's injury didn't help too as he'd defo got some solid playing time I would have thought. Perhaps the number of games played in the last month has taken its toll on the players? Suarez was lively and Kelly had N'Zogbia in his pocket all day. N'Gog was excellent I thought, much much better than Kuyt who really needs a rest after a couple of excellent games recently.

    Kenny

Agree totally. If I may add, the good moments feel that much sweeter when you have experienced the really bad ones. I'd defo not be as ecstatic as I am currently about Kenny if Hodgson had not stuffed up as badly as it did. Mind you I'd prefer to be in the top four now - of which I am almost certain we would be had Kenny got the job in the summer. Also, Torres would have still been here I'd suspect. But if we go on and win our next 5 then we'd soon forget about him, especially if Carroll and Suarez turn out to be the strike force we think they can be. It feels amazing to be an LFC supporter/fan again. Kenny is perfect - off the pitch and on it. Loving the football we're playing now which is really important for me - not critical but very important nonetheless. I LOVED that Rafa didn't celebrate. This is how I read Rafa - he's a nice, soft and warm man deep down inside. Emotional even. But somewhere along the line he realised that in order to keep his focus and be successful he needed to keep the emotions in check. He can't alternate between the both. Which I suspect explains why he feels the need to keep his distance from the players as well. Roger Federer used to smash rackets and get all wound up on the tennis court when he was younger. He decided at one point that it wasn't doing him any good so he had to learn to bottle up the feelings and just not react. And at the end of a Grand Slam he would just collapse - win or lose - because he had gone through the roller coaster of emotions for 7 matches in two weeks and could finally let it all out.
  12. BOSS!!! F*cking wide smile on my face. I'm still buzzing... I was there when Xabi scored in 08 - the atmosphere was electric that day. I'm sure those that were there on Sunday experienced a similar vibe....

    4th place

I actually agree with you on that count - we are so much happier now because we have seen how bad it can get. And I suspect that's the worst it will get for a while. But going back on the martyrdom of Rafa, come on, 99% of the media refuse to blame Hodgson for the plight we were in. Even now you hear some no mark commentators get asked the same "what do you think is the difference since KD came back" and all you hear is "confidence, players starting to play" despite the fact that the style of play was overhauled immediately. And for me style of play is very much up there as the reason why I want to see Kenny stay on as manager - we've not seen such emphasis on attacking football (passing, movement, getting players ahead of the ball and into the box) since the days of Roy Evans. Even Rafa's LFC at their best (08/09) was not as naturally offensive minded as we are now. Anyway, back to the topic - I think people are getting carried away talking about 4th place. It's not impossible but there is too much ground to make up - not with Spurs and Chelsea both level on points with a game in hand.

Ermmm. Wasn't Rafa the fall guy anyway since nothing was ever Hodgson's fault?
  15. Nah ahh, not according to the Queen herself on Twitter: Cafe con leche for Kenny tonight!

    Kenny

DID HE REALLY SAY THAT??? PS: how great does it feel to say "did he really say that" and actually be able to laugh, where only 6 weeks ago we would have said that in despair and disbelief...

    Kenny

Said on the match thread that I'm ready to call for Kenny to be our manager for the next 10 years, and that for me today would indicate his ability to mix it tactically with the best. GIVE THE MAN A 10 YEAR CONTRACT NOW!!!
  18. Very controlled game from LFC so far. We've had the better chance(s) and the tactics are working fine. I am just about ready to commit to calling for Kenny to be our manager for the next 10 years. When Ancelotti brings on Malouda - and the game will change at that point - whether Kenny reacts to that successfully will be the indicator for me.
  19. Newcastle away, no?
  20. I loved it. We controlled midfield, passed it about. The only problem we had was a lack of backup out wide, and sometimes nobody to play it out wide to. Kelly at times was seen ahead of play around the edge of the box lined up like a forward. Johnson was in the 6 yard box to head Kelly's cross. Agger had license to roam forward and won the free kick that led to the opener. Thought it was excellent.
  21. So after an excellent performance tonight I thought I'd watch the highlights again and listen to some of the post game analysis from the LFC TV crew. After the video clip ended, LFC TV thought they'd recommend something for me to watch... [click me I promise it's funny...] For all those who are sore about Torres leaving and us paying stupid money for Carroll, just a reminder of how bad it can get...
  22. Kuyt Agger Kyrgiakos
  23. THIS. And when Carroll plays we will have a strike force that chases defenders down.
  24. Hodgson was the problem with his tactics, but Torres certainly didn't help us by playing without any passion. If Dalglish was here in the summer we would not have been in this dire situation where we're so far behind the top 4. I suspect if we weren't so far behind competing for 4th spot he would have stayed on until the end of the season. So I'm putting part of this down to Purslow and Hodgson.
  25. Smacks of that doesn't it? Either that or they were given a f*cking rocket up their a*** by Torres' transfer request and were trying to show him they meant business.
