    It's a shame that Rodgers (and Gerrard earlier) has to get involved in this. I'm sure that Sterling's agent is being tough to deal with, but for someone who is arguably the best young player in Europe, we really need to pay whatever he's worth and close the deal. Teams don't get to keep top players unless they match their wages accordingly.

    Thought that he was going to throw at punch at Costa right at the end. The c*** was literally nodding as if to say 'come on'. Calmed down at the right time. Haven't seen a player as vile as Costa apart from the ones at Real a few years ago, but he was clearly instructed to make sure that our important players lost their heads.

    My issue with the TC/Ayre is not that we didn't land Sanchez but that we seemed to be completely out of options once he decided to go to Arsenal. Teams losing out on players is one thing but not having anyone competent in mind and going out on a limb with 'Fingers crossed, hope for the best' type signings in an injury prone Remy and a mental Balo is another.

    It's like he's been training with Everton when playing for us. Doesn't know where to stand and doesn't know who to pass to in a red shirt. I really want him to be a success with us, but doesn't look like it's going to work. At least, I didnt go get a Balotelli shirt earlier in the season.

    Don't see this reported anywhere, but isn't a 2.5 a little short term? Something to do with his knee problems? Guess the player and the club would have an option to extend it by a year, if in agreement.

    That's a fair summary, I think. If Rodgers had to simply sell Balo, he would't say what he's said about him. Now, I also think that there's something majorly amiss with this signing. Rodgers clearly likes his team to be hard working off the ball, and Balotelli did not fit into that category when we signed him. Who made that decision?
