I'd love us to be strong here. If he wants to go then hand a transfer request in and forego your "loyalty" payments.. We, and other clubs, need to make a stand on things like this

I don't think I've seen any of what appear to be our targets play. Bar Toure, who I used to think was boss, but over the years have somehow decided has lost it, despite seeing no evidence first hand I'd also never seen Coutinho play and used to think Sturridge was class, but had lost his way In summary. True, although last year seems a good comparison and we brought 4 in last summer (2 of which are kids) and only received money for 3 players. The outs look big due to the number of kids being released. I think there's another trend there that shows we get rubbish fees for our outgoing players, or at least we have since our Rafa led periods of strength, which clearly isn't helped by our ability to amass deadwood at high wages.

I work under the assumption that we pay a chunk more on paid transfer fees and receive a lot less on incoming fees due to signing on fees/paying off wages/agent costs/loyalty bonuses/legal fees etc I don't think we'll spend anywhere near some of scenarios or have the level of squad turnover

Make him hand in a transfer request. If he does and we get a decent offer than fine, if not let's try and play hardball. He doesn't strike me as the type of player who won't give his all on the pitch

I saw an interview with Martinez the other day where he metioned that his Chairman has a "lot of opinions on footballing matters" with a wry smile I took that to mean "I hate the mouthy t***, his bluster knows no limits"

I always think these long lists of transfer outs with estimated fees are very optimistic. How often do we get rid of loads of players for good money in one summer and given we pay high wages we'll often/normally have to give the players some sort of pay off. Isn't this pretty much always the case when players don't ask for a transfer? I think we'll get money which can be reinvested for Skrtel, Reina and Carroll if they go, the rest will breakeven at best
