Did ok. Lost his bearings a couple of times, but Villa are a threat up front. Brought the ball out of defence looking to create and was unlucky second half when the lino incorrectly flagged Aspas, didn't do this recklessly either

Suarez would have made a big difference. Ball wasn't sticking up front second half. Suarez would have drawn fouls/won corners/beaten their entire defence and scored Great to win the first two though

Or problems like having to get the likes of Downing, Carroll etc off the wage bill whilst taking a big hit in transfer value. We can't keep doing this... I don't think we could have got Mata, but examples like the above are easy in hindsight. We've paid big money for Suarez, big success, got bargains in Sturridge and Coutinho. I reckon the money's there for the right player at the right price, I don't believe the conspiracy theory

Or we're not prepared to pay over the odds for players and cause us similar issues that we've had to deal with for years. Don't know the real answer, but could spin either view to where we are

I get the it's ok to overspend by a few million now and then viewpoint, but that's got it limits. We'll get mugged going forwards and you've got to draw a line as to how much you're willing to pay £30M seems high for this guy, based on intuition* * nothing
