The only times we've come close to winning it since we did in 2006 (2012 and 2015) coincided with two of our worst league seasons in recent memory. I'm not sure anyone has really been arsed about the Cup since that Villa semi-final (and even then some weren't too dismayed to lose if it would hasten Rodgers' departure). The treble has only become a target in recent weeks as rivals fans and the media try to set up something for us to fail at/maintain interest in domestic season. Without the treble, without a CL win, without 100 points, without an unbeaten season, without a record number of wins, without the earliest ever PL win, this will still be an unforgettable season, one of our greatest ever, and achieved by one of our greatest teams ever and one of the greatest ever sides in this country.
