Well... you can add to that Raheem Sterling and Jonjo Shelvey. As they were both signed by Rafa just before he was chased out of towm.

He is fully a german national, born, raised in Germany. He is more culturally German than Mezut Ozil for instance, or at least has almost no accent when he speaks. But he just happens to play international football with Turkey.

He plays up front for Uruguay, and has for the a few years now, watch the games. Cavani plays wide.

He is very good. I rate him at the top level. Giroud is as complete and intelligent a player as you will find. Great passing, good movement good shooting technique, superior agility (despite his 6ft5 height , good instincts. He is like a more aggressive/poaching version of Peter Crouch rather than a Andy Carroll. The agility and awareness is what sets him apart. Him and Hazard were the two best players in that league and it hurts to see him go to Arsenal for such a ridiculously low price. We could really use smart players as it stands but we just gift them to rivals. There isn't a striker in Europe that I would take over him, for under £20m.

That's my main concern with him. Does seem to lack a fair bit of speed and agility. Which is why I would very much prefer a Belhanda type player over him.

I am surprised the club is pushing for him to be back for pre-season. I thought we would be taking the long view on this and target a full year reeducation/recovery, allowing him until December before he joins the first team. The last thing we need is for him to relapse a la Rossi. That would be devastating for his career and for the club.
