  7. The simple answer is no. Apart from the last two games with City, when was the last time that he ever came up with a goal out of nothing consistently? If he cannot do it at City, what makes anybody think that he can do it at a much higher level? He is not good enough and hasn't been for about 5 years now. He has recently been linked to Millwall and that sounds about right for me. Now don't get me wrong, he was the most natural finisher I have ever seen and maybe once or twice a season, still is. But that isn't good enough for us anymore. We are the Champions of Europe FFS. People are letting their hearts rule their heads on this one and if that is the case, we may as well ask Rushie and Dalglish to come back too. It's great to see him scoring again, especially against them b*stards but htis is an absolute non starter for me.

  9. Good stuff, as always. Like many people, I had a few worries about whether we could cope with our Christmas schedule, especially with the trip to Japan beforehand. And then once that was over, could we then cope with the quite tricky Spurs game followed by 5 other tricky / difficult games, United, Chelsea and Arsenal included in that. But I think it shows how far we have come on mentally that I am confident about the next 5 games, as I was today. I will be disappointed now if we lose any of these games and I wouldn't be surprised if we won them all - cos this is what good sides do. And you can bet that if the fans are thinking this, then the players and staff are too - quietly confident. And as you said Wayne, we are learning to not rely on one or two players and that is so important. We can now accomadate the loss of players, either down to injury, suspension or lack of form, and the signings of Aggar and Kronkamp have really helped that too. We are not quite 'there' yet, but we are getting there very quickly and it will frightening when we do. Games like today win championships.
  10. Apart from this bit then; "I'd take him over pay day strikers like morientes anyday of the week. Least he wants to pull on that red jersey."
  11. We are not some sort of charity or benevolent fund - we are in the business of winning trophies, and I don't think that the return of Owen or Fowler will improve our chances of doing that. In fact, with all of the baggage that both would undoubtedly bring, they could actually harm our chances. And in terms of Folwer wanting to pull on a red jersey, I'm sure that 100% of the members of this forum would like to do that too but fortunately, that simply isn't enough. I mean, FFS, we might as well sign Dalglish on again, you know, for old times sake.
