  1. Yes but they just get bought up instantly by whatever tout has the fastest bot.
  2. Yeah something like that. A lot of the hospo tickets are bulk sold to travel firms. (A lot in Ireland) who i assume return any unsold with X days to go. (It's why "new" hospo tickets appear a few days out from games.
  3. Yeah it's this. They will never reduce the price on them as it'll immediately start people playing chicken waiting for the price drop.
  4. Yep so hopefully the start of the club finally cracking down. I don't really care about a family sharing a ticket / giving it to mates. But there are loads of season tickets that are just being used as 200 quid a game slush fund.
  5. Yeah you run the risk if you're using the secondary sites. There's always tonnes of Americans at the game whose ticket they bought on stubhub etc don't work and they go to the ticket office who can't help them. Hopefully with them getting on top of bots the ticket exchange might actually become useful because atm they just get instantly sold to whichever tout has the fastest software. It does annoy me massively that where i sit there's 3 season tickets a couple of rows in front and that every single week it's a different set of tourists in. It's been reported to the club on more than one occasion but they've been very slow to act. There's also the facebook group that boasts they have 100+ season tickets. Everyone knows but the club seems painfully slow in sorting it.
  6. They sell something like 90% of them even for the crap games. They won't change the model atm as it's pretty lucrative. And yeah the 400 quid tickets for a jacket potato and a couple of heinekins a complete rip off but for many it's the only way to ever get a ticket now.
  7. They'll be playing whack a mole for a long time given how ridiculously lucrative it is to resell a ST sadly.
  8. This has all that it's ever been about with FSG. They bought in with the promise of FFP. Which was defeated in the courts.
  9. They could try this. But unless all the players on the remaining teams took huge paycuts they'd all be bankrupt in months. Theyre not going to throw the 6 out. It's suicide.
  10. The German clubs 50+1 rule means they won't be joining until the writing is on the wall. Leipzig probably would if invited though. Lol. Assuming we're still in the PL. You don't win the league there is nothing to play for. So if you get off to a bad start you just sack off the PL and focus entirely on the ESL.
  11. Haha no chance. Imagine sky would be straight on the phone.
  12. He means in terms of the PL. You lose a few games you have nothing to play for. No top 4 qualification needed so you can just coast and rest players for the ESL games. It would be like our season falling apart in January this year but not having to work towards the top 4.
  13. That's what is being touted atm. But don't see it staying that way forever.
  14. The PL will. The rights are up for tender this year.
  15. Honestly think you're overestimating the draw of international football.
  16. @Swipe The wealth/power of the PL is entirely made up from the big clubs.
  17. The two biggest draws for players are the big teams and money. Both of which would be in this new league. It's not going to be some MLS style retirement league.
  18. The PL will never throw these 6 teams out. Their revenue would collapse overnight.
  19. Yeah I think people overestimate the value of international football. 4 years playing for a s*** club getting paid peanuts compared to the ESL teams. All so you can play a competition for 2 weeks in a summer? They'll all just sign for real/whoever on 500 grand a week.
  20. I don't think there'll be a backlash. The players will end up getting paid more. This is (currently) about getting control of European competition off Uefa with the PL untouched. It won't stay that way but that's how it will be sold.
  21. Logically the PL won't be chucking the 6 teams who generate all their revenue. The TV revenue instantly collapses if so. Can't see Uefa banning players internationally. And FIFA also won't care. I don't see how this doesn't eventually get done. Whether it is under Uefas banner or not. The club's are leveraging their control of the market. A new midweek comp run by the club's is meh but it won't be long until they sack off the PL which would be the end for me.
  22. The cash. Most footballers will take the cash.
  23. Afcon being moved probably had a lot to do with it.
  24. Radio silence from the club's chosen journo's as well afaik?
