Dont see why people are concerned about Carraghers relationship with Rafa. This is all to do with his form/ quality at the minute. He'sbeen horrible for the last 18 months. That, and that alone , should be the basis of his dropping from the team. IF he got Rafa the boot, and he was still playing at the top of his game then I would be all for his inclusion. Some people need to remove the local lad factor before commenting.

The delusion shown by David Hodgson in here suggests its not a mere name he shares with gool ol' Woy, but a complete gene pool. I am shaking my head fervently in his direction.

A small positive if he does then. Id much prefer to see Meireles as the player running beyond Torres, and being the primary player responsible with getting into the box. Whilst its obvious that you would want Gerrard in the same position on occassion, Gerrard offers a lot more with the ball at his feet dominating the centre of the pitch. Would much prefer him being the support to the support at the minute and try to control the game, because its pretty clear that the Gerrard+Torres partnership is dead until dear Woy leaves the club.

I'd say Gerrard would (or at least should) be the more restricted between himself and Meireles in a three. Meireles strength is running from deep into the box, would be a waste to not have him doing this.

Because you cant say he wasted money without looking at how much he brought in to cover those sales. Thats a bit of a silly really. You have to try and be slightly more objective. Its not as much of a problem if you cover your losses, no, because that means a player has been bought, utilised in the interim and then sold near profit effectively giving the club a free player for that period of time. Youve got to keep in mind that each player is not going to work out - that happens for every manager, so its very harsh to criticise on that front given that his record was no worse than anyone elses. As time went on and on the more Rafa had to sell to buy. Do you see the correlation there? Overall I think a lot of people seem to forget that the squad that Rafa left was markedly better than that left by Houllier 5 years previously, and Id be very happy to state that more good things than bad things came from the transfers of Rafa.

Hold on, you cant move the goalposts. You tried to take a pop at Rafa based on the fact he bought some, and i quote, "mediocre players". You cant suddenly change the criteria to include whether the said was finely balanced to a player

Erm, I dont think thats a problem when you look at the money he brought in from sales.Got to consider both sides of things.
