I actually think we are doing a good job here. Real don't even need him on the bench any more. He's totally surplus to requirements there. I think as long as Real get their money back on him with perhaps an extra million or two then I can't see an issue especially if Owen demands Liverpool as is first choice. Did we not read that Owen had been talking to Liverpool over the last couple of months! If so he knows the score and knows how much we want him and how much the manager wants him. It's doing everyones head in but I think we might get Owen hand have saved 3-4 million that can be used in areas already talked about.

Because he scores goals and we need goals! It's really that simple. I'd be sad for Cisse if he was axed to pay for Owen and I do think it would make Owen unpopular with many fans so I hope it doesn't come down to that. What I am surprised at is the total lack of cash offered to Rafa to do his job. I know we've been big spenders but I can't imagine we spent all our funds last year banking on winning the CL last summer and qualifying this year so surely there is cash somewhere.

If Owen played zero games until xmas and then joined us playing up until the summer he'd walk into the England team. I really can't see how Owen's place is under threat at all.

Out of interest why do we do press conferences other than when someone signs? No one gets anything out of Rafa so they are a complete waste of time. Must be a pain in the back side knowing you have to head to Liverpool to interview Rafa. Wahoo we can spend the rest of the afternoon fine combing every word, eye movement and gesture Rafa makes and come to the conclusion that, Owen seems most likely to sign when Baros goes to either Lyon for loads of cash or Villa for crap cash but Solano comes the other way.
