They need better quality on the left too. Someone like Saka to take the load off.

It'll be funny watching Arsenal doing it. They've tried to emulate us in everything under Arteta so they'll have their cameras out so they can copy what champions do if they ever get there. -
How is he only 30? I'm sure he was around peek Gerrard Lampard Scholes time. This must be his 25th year in the premier league.

Darwin misses chances like you miss the point.

I was just using him as an example of an emotionally charged player is all. He was better and happier under Klopp. We know he's not good enough now but that wasn't the point i was making.
-
Two totally different styles of management isn't it. I can get on board with both as a fan but I'm sure it's been a big transition for some of the players. You can see Mo loves it. While Darwin probably misses the arm around the shoulder of Klopp. Probably similar to Gerrard and Rafa actually. Klopp brings an emotional heart on sleeve momentum building band of brothers style philosophy which is fantastic to be part of I imagine and brilliant to watch. It's tribal and fits football brilliantly. But it must be exhausting and it clearly was. Slot is just totally different. More Rafa like. More quite authoritative head master. Emotions are managed or removed as much as possible and we see a more practiced clinical approach. Both ways clearly work if the person is brilliant at what they do. Luckily we've had back to back brilliance leading the charge.

Exactly this season doesn't happen without Klopp. It also doesn't happen without Slot. Fair play to whoever earmarked Slot for the job. It's been a staggeringly great appointment. I'm really interest to see what happens once he moves away from Klopps players and gets to build his own team. Fingers crossed he's great at that bit too.

The salty nature of other fans claiming the league is terrible this year is funny. Manc fans claiming it's a terrible standard. If so why are you 41 points from the top then? A good barometer is always how good the teams in the middle of the league are. Villa Bournemouth Brighton and Brentford are all good teams.

We could do the other thing. We start kinda bright and then slowly let them build confidence where we've had 50 shots and not scored and they've not had a chance only to break and either score or get caught off side after scoring. What happens after that is we usually somehow win but...... -
If you got free tickets to see "An evening with Joey Barton" where Joey tells us his thoughts and whimsies on life and answers random questions from the audience would you go? I think I would. I've got a mate who's fascinated by great stories and intriguing tales (darker and weirder the better) so I'd bring him along as it might be one of the most interesting nights out for all the wrong reasons. Anyways back to signing loads of class players....

That's what he's worth if he didn't do what they asked him to do which is run down his contract like a good lad, so they could pick him up for free. That's why he's going there. Of course he makes most teams better, but most teams don't want to pay that kind of money for a RB unless they are free. Offer Konate or Macca to Madrid for 100 million and they don't go there. Offer them for free and they are there in the morning.
-
Madrid are not spending 100 million on a RB.

Can we stop bigging up how crap Spurs are. -
Probably all true. It is just football so I won't be booing or burning shirts. I'll just mildly take the piss on an internet forum and cheer him on when he's playing, if a little begrudgingly and half heartedly. But for some reason I keep forgetting how good he can be. He comes off the bench at the weekend and gets us the winner and it's bloody annoying that a local player of that ability wants to leave, when he's vice captain, and about to win the league. For free. To Madrid. The big warning for me if I was him is they wouldn't be interested if he wasn't free. But that's his gamble to take.
-
I'm with you. It's a crap on going saga from our vice captain. Love to know Slots take on it all. I'm sure he can't wait to move on with clarity. Be interesting to know what he says to him in his brutal honest way "Madrid will like your crossing but you'll need to learn how to defend or you'll end up at Villa or Newcastle in 2 years playing my champions. Here's a number for a very good 1v1 coach I know in Madrid... oh and lose the belly it won't look good in white"
-
That's fair. I shall boo the crap out of him from now on preggers or not. Just had a thought. Maybe he had morning sickness when we played ManU!
