Exactly- who the hell cares about the Yankees. Back to the main point ? headgear. If it can protect kids from injuries then what?s the problem. These things have already been approved by FIFA ? over 2 years ago. Scrum caps are used in rugby for the same purpose ? what?s the issue there? Shinpads got the same grief ? now are used by everyone ? what is the difference? Its not the injuries or potential from heading the ball that?s the issue here ? its head injuries caused by falls / collisions etc that they are trying to protect against. If a kid has already had a couple of concussions wouldn?t it be sensible to protect them as much as possible whilst still letting them play? I?d give it serious consideration if it was my kid. Not an issue at his age as heading the ball is a very minor part of the game at U10. shan't. I like the view from up here Its yanks so its worth bashing seem to be the attitude. I don;t know enough about the gear to know if its worth while and will protect kids - or just a marketing sham. so inthe meantie I'll sit on my horse about the attitude and on the fence about the headgear. shinpads probably got a similar recpetion when first made compulsorary. Headgear may be a good idea- I am not endorsing it or refuting it just based upon the location of the company. Besides they have been approved by Fifa since 2003 - bit late to be making a fuss now.
