These things have already been approved by FIFA ? over 2 years ago. Scrum caps are used in rugby for the same purpose ? what?s the issue there? Shinpads got the same grief ? now are used by everyone ? what is the difference? Its not the injuries or potential from heading the ball that?s the issue here ? its head injuries caused by falls / collisions etc that they are trying to protect against. If a kid has already had a couple of concussions wouldn?t it be sensible to protect them as much as possible whilst still letting them play? I?d give it serious consideration if it was my kid. Not an issue at his age as heading the ball is a very minor part of the game at U10.
