ultimately football, especially the clubs, are going to want to reach the consumer directly and cut out the TV companies. individual subscriptions to each club allowing access to online content and exclusive interviews and a full array of historic matches has to be the goal. (ha!) instead of a couple of countries paying a set amount imagine the potential income of a hundred million subscribers across the globe. a tenner a month... I don't think we are close to having the bandwidth , the customer base or ability to do that yet but the potential is incredible. Add to that the sponsorship, online ads, direct access to the club shop for the shirt of that player who has just scored - or ones from older matches - and you start to see the huge potential earning power of the club. I don't think FSG are going anywhere yet - theres a big future there..
