Coming down our left hand side............... Kromkamp has a pop, just wide.

This game is far too open for my liking! Looking like any team could score with each attack. Handy if we got a few more for the goal difference.

My god what a screamer!!! 3-1!!!!! 21st goal of the season, amazing! :woohoo:

Sentiments echoed, I got a feeling next season we will be Chelsea's nearest rivals for the title. I know it and Mourinho knows it, Mourinho is more scared of us and Benitez than the mancs and Ferguson. Ferguson won't be around much longer and I think Mourinho had got in his mindset that Rafa is his long term threat for honours in the future. Next season should be a cracker. -
Same here but they deserve it, 2nd place is up for grabs again now. Mancs now only have a 6 goal advantage over us. If we can beat Villa today convincingly, it will certainly pile the pressure on the mancs. They have also lost Rooney for the remainder of the season and they rely on him heavily to win games. I think we can still nick it.

Superb goal from Cole, what on earth was Rio Ferdinand doing for the 3rd goal?! Miles behind his own backline playing Chelsea players 10 yards onside!
-
That goal was virtually a carbon copy of the goal they scored against us at Stamford Bridge earlier in the season. I remember at the time, the pundits, media were going on about our "zonal marking" being responsible for the goal being conceded. Think this goal today just shows what a load of b******s that was since the mancs don't defend zonally. Isn't it time we criticised man mark defending?

LOL! Boro in the UEFA Cup Final!! Amazing, we could end up with Arsenal v Middlesborough in the Super Cup next season!
-
Cisse has scored 6 goals in his last 7 games for Liverpool, he deserved a run in the team and it wouldn't suprise me if he plays in the FA Cup Final.
-
We are currently standing at 22 clean sheets in the League, the second highest in the clubs history behind 78/79 team which achieved 28 clean sheets. In all competitions we currently have 33 clean sheets, the record stands at 34 and has been achieved by three Liverpool teams. The last team who got 34 clean sheets was the treble winning side of 83/84.

Can't see it being overturned by the FA unless the referee admits to an error in his decision. If he doesn't then the FA will back the referee, can't see the FA undermining their own officials.

Agree need to get rid of the white trim off the front of the shirt. The more red the better.

With 3rd place sewn up, any chance of Rafa bringing in a youngster from the reserve team and giving him a taste of first team football before the end of the season? Well with Crouch and Gerrard not playing and Cisse left wing.

Wenger last season...........this was before the Champions League Final. Bet he has changed his tune recently.

Question is then, why would UEFA leave it up to the respective FA's discretion? Surely UEFA themselves would have every intention of having their own Title Holders in their competition the following season. Only thing I can think of is that UEFA expected the FA to enter the European Champions regardless. Therefore the Title Holders (Highest seed) themselves get precedence over all the other teams in the Champions League. So based on this fact, the teams from England that qualified for Europe the order of qualification would of been: 1. Liverpool (Title Holders) 2. Chelsea (English Champions) 3. Arsenal 4. Manchester United Therefore it would of been Manchester United taking Everton's place not Liverpool

Ahh the myth again rears its ugly head again about the rules being changed for Liverpool to participate. No rules were changed to allow Liverpool in last season, the only thing that was changed was the interpretation of the rule.........unfortunately our own FA couldn't make the right decision if their own backsides were on fire. They clearly took advantage of the "grey area" in the ruling so they could force UEFA's hand into allowing 5 English teams into the Champions League. UEFA were always going to allow their title holder to defend the trophy, as indicated this season by Arsenal qualifying in the expense of Spurs. In 2000, Real Madrid were put in ahead of Real Zaragoza and rightly so, they were the title holders and qualify by right. Something which the FA backed and supported previously in 2004, but convienently took advantage of it in 2005. Maybe the cronies at the FA are more smarter than we think?

Nah hes used to Fat Frank's and Joe Cole's shots in training getting deflected by his defenders.

I just don't abide by "Its Life, just get on with it" it is that type of attitude and approach as to why situations like this could escalate like it did in the 70s and 80s. Look what then happened, Heysel, Heysel was an accident waiting to happen. It didn't matter which English team played in that final, that incident was always going to happen. Why? because football clubs had a bunch of supporters who were basically hooligans, they went to a game to cause trouble. I do fear with the recent tension in the Merseyside derby of how ugly it has got recently and now this whole t** for tat buisness with the mancs, we could be heading down a similar road. Who is going to suffer at the consequence of these mindless idiots? The majority of decent matchday folk who go to Liverpool games and see their clubs reputation be tarnished by a minority. Also I have noticed, since we have European Cup, it seems to me quite alot of these "brainless idiots" have jumped on the glory bandwagon and started following the club to cause trouble. I wish they just bugger off because quite frankly they are now damaging the reputation of our great club. Liverpool as a football club has been through alot of highs and lows in its history. I certainly do not want to see another "low" point off the field of play.

Have to agree with everyone who has made comments in condoning the actions of these so called "Liverpool supporters". The following comment was from a steward who was at the game, if any of this is believed to be true, then those "supporters" who bullied other LFC supporters out of their own seats are idiots. They are brainless thugs and quite frankly aren't the type of people I want attaching themselves to Liverpool Football Club. "I am a MUFC steward in The North Stand.I had the "pleasure" of stewarding at yesterday's semi, in the Liverpool section. What I witnessed was nothing short of scandalous. The scousers were bullying their own fans out of seats so their mates could all sit together, they were spitting everywhere, breaking seats, throwing beer at police and stewards. Not to mention "re-decorating" the toilet walls with inhuman comments about Munich, Sir Matt Busby, Gary Neville's mother, and Alan Smith etc. " They are not supporters, they are hooligans, hope those ***** get caught on CCTV and are banned for life. At this rate it is going to get worse and worse, t** for tat, when will it end? Will it take another MAJOR incident to chuck people like that out of the game? I certainly hope not.

Seen other sets of supporters are moaning by saying Gerrard hasn't been the best player this season in the Premiership. Unfortunately what they fail to notice it is the PFA Player of the "Year" so the award takes into account of what that player did/achieved in the calendar year 2005. Based on that, Gerrard is the deserved winner. Well done!

To be honest Makelele does make some good points, Fergie was just as guilty as Mourinho at the time when the Mancs dominated. Fergie moaned about the ref, the grass, the weather, the colour of the shirts, total arrogance and anything to the shift the blame from himself if they lost. Mourinho is bad and has made alot of excuses but he is no where near Fergie yet.
