  1. Thinking along the lines of confidence, also what worries me is Rafa has played little of the first teamers together in preparation for the Haifa game. I don't know maybe Rafa has something up his sleeve.
  2. So the list gets bigger and bigger 1. Hobbs 2. Paletta 3. Riise 4. Traore 5. Kromkamp all making individual mistakes leading to goals over pre season. This does not bode well for the game against Haifa, 5-0 defeat in pre season is shocking, don't care what anyone says. What effect will this have on the team, if anything?
  3. Still concerned though, our next game is the Champions League qualifier and we are making schoolboy errors in defence. OK they are pre season games, but losing them isn't exactly installing any confidence into the team for next Wednesday.
  4. SACK THE DEFENCE!
  5. Yep, they have already kicked in their "Only won it two times without killing anyone......." nonsense. I'm sure they have been singing about Arsenal as well. Don't they ever sing about their own team apart from the tedious chant of UNITED UNITED.
  6. I don't think the lack of service was a problem. Apparently last season Liverpool created more goalscoring opportunities than any other team in the League. What let us down was our conversion ratio (one of the worst in the League), we weren't clinical enough in front of goal. Hopefully we will make a difference in this department this season. Another thing, remember the whole argument about zonal defending not working? Well Liverpool last season were the best team at defending set pieces, so lets put that to bed.
  7. Agree I feel Arsenal will have a similar season to last season. Some excellent individuals in their team and they will probably get a good record at the Emirates. But again their away form will let them down, I can see some of their players getting intimidated and bullied by the opposition. They have stilll not found a replacement for Vieria, expect a poor away record. It is between us and the Mancs to challenge Chelsea's crown.
  8. Yep! Don't know how he has survived Was signed by LFC in February 1999. Well unbroken service....Fowler doesn't count.
  9. Yes Who is currently (in the squad, playing first team football) the 2nd longest serving player after Carragher at Liverpool?
  10. Before 1984-85, what was the last season Liverpool finished trophyless in?
  11. Well we all know Rush scored 4 against Everton in November 1982 at Goodison Park. But who scored the other goal in that 0-5 win?
  12. Yes, two of the flukiest goals you'll ever see at Wembley. First one was a goal mouth scramble and the second was totally freakish!
  13. I remember now, that cup game was played 4 days before the we met them in the League, the famous 5-0 demolition.
  14. I thought it was Webb, If I remember it took a delection which Brucie could only stop just inside the post, or was that the 1989 Semi Final?
  15. Dinamo Bucharest and.........ermmm
  16. He also scored the first goal in that 2-1 win
  17. 7 Years.......... What a joke. 7 years since knocking down the old stadium and building the new one.
  18. Doesn't matter anyway, it all adds up in the end, well £300million of them!
  19. From Soccerbase Change the season at the bottom to 2005/06
  20. Chelsea's spending since Abramovich arrived... 2003/04 £153.45million 2004/05 £56.85million 2005/06 £83.40million Total : £293.70million, approximately £300million!
  21. I'll give you a helping hand Huyton. According to lfchistory.net............... Gerard Houllier bought 40 players for £125,400,000 Gerard Houllier sold 48 players for £60,675,000 Net Spending = £64,725,000 Mr Hodgson's analysis was spot on. Suprised me as well, but £11million per season brought 4 major trophies.
  22. Everton v Liverpool Bobby Graham, think he rounded the goalie and put the ball in the net from a very narrow angle
  23. Well thats a very good reason to keep them. If not we could always go back to deciding a game on a toss of a coin.
  24. I wouldn't change anything, why change it? Penalty shoot outs bring drama and a nervousness that is unique in any sport. Imagine/Recall the feeling you experienced when: a) Westerveld saved from Johnson (League Cup Final 2001) b) Alan Kennedy scored against Roma (European Cup Final 1984) c) Dudek saved from Schevchenko (European Cup Final 2005) d) Reina saved from Ferdinand (FA Cup Final 2006) Everyone of these iconic moments in Liverpool's history would never of happened if the penalty shoot out was replaced. Don't mess around with it, leave it, the agony and ecstacy of winning or losing a game on penalties is what makes it so special.
  25. I think during the parade there were around 300,000 people around St George's Hall, with an estimated 750,000 people lining the streets along the parade route. That makes the total easily over a million.
