You're a thick one. Given the position of the camera the lines will appear to converge to a point. They wont be parallel. If we were looking at the pitch perpindicularly, then Johnson and Insua would be parallel with the lines on the pitch and the goal line, but the perspective offered by camera position doesnt show this. Not difficult mate.

Random line? It links the two full backs and shows they were level, ie insua wasnt out of position. You gallopping trollop.

Erm, the green line isnt meant to be parallel to the orange lines. Nor are the orange lines meant to be parallel to each other, as perspective warps how they are presented in the field of view. I will go through it once more. The green line shows the full backs relationship to each other. I plotted the orange lines using the grass cut of the pitch to give some sort of reference for the green line. Its not overly difficult to comprehend. Oh, and the green line doesnt go against the effect of perspective. Check the distance between the green and orange at the top and bottom and theyre the same, ie both full backs were level.

The orange lines are there to provide some sort of perspective to measure the green line against. Are you really that stupid?

@ Ba.Boon. What in gods name are you on about? The green line highlights the fact that both full backs are level, hence blaming insua for this goal for being in the wrong position is a load of b******s.

There, thats a second go just to offer some extra proof on the matter. If you look closely at the top and bottom of the pitch youll see the red dots i used to mark the top and bototm of each row which were then joined. The orange lines then connect the two. May i also add that the likelihood of both full backs ( and lets not forget that Glen Johnson is a top international fullback ) making the same positional mistake is slim to none. I would wager theyve been coached to act as shown above.

Personally, Id say the central mids and centre backs are more at fault than the full backs. The fiorentina player is in the space our holding midfielder should be. He's not there so thats led to our centres backs both charging out - shows a complete lack of communication.

Well why are you concerned?

The problem isnt that he insists on playing two holding players - it worked last season with Alonso and Mascherano. The difference is that we obviously no longer have Alonso and Lucas isnt the same type of player. Rafa has failed to adjust his tactics to suit new players.
