We've all seen us rip teams apart in the past with just Kuyt up top on his own, so our current malaise can't be attributed to just one striker, even one of the calibre of Torres. It's our approach to games that has cost us. There's been plenty of chances with Torres out this season to change the shape of the side, maybe drop Gerrard back and add some more firepower up top but Rafa decided to just stick with what wasn't working and try and grind our way out of it.

Bayern will have to win comfortably in the first leg at home to have any chance as I can't see them going to OT in the second leg and getting a result.

Bayern have a some quality but their defence is crap. I might have a sneaky bet on Inter.

Distinct lack of composure at the moment, just slapping the ball anywhere.

Frustrating team us. We just switch off, stop doing the basics properly and start giving the ball away, which leads to tension in the ground. We should be all over these.

Can't see that much wrong with what he's said there. The interviews with the Spanish press are always a lot more candid and then usually twisted by our press for a cheap headline. As someone said it's the timing that's wrong. Don't players go and knock on the managers door these days anyway?

Juve's cynical tactics at set pieces is shocking. Fulham should have had at least two pens. I wouldn't mind but there's an extra offical only yards away. Penalty! Come on Fulham.

I'd have to go for Arsenal. There's something really seedy about wanting Chelsea to win anything. Wenger aside, they're far less nauseating as a club than the other two and the football they play is outstanding. Hopefully it will prove that stability is still the best ingredient for long term success.

Rafa always blanks players he wants to move on, it's just his way of dealing with it. Riera should know how it works by now. No great loss anyway to be honest. He lacks a yard of pace to be genuine quality.

Crouch has got to be a shoe in to start. He's always a threat and brings other players into the game far better than Heskey. It's also time to stop fiddling about trying to fit Stevie and Lampard into the same side and drop the latter and play a natural wide player. You could even play Barry tucked in on the left. I think they are yeah but the two nations have to agree to the switch or it reverts back to the Saturday/Wednesday.

Lets just keep a winning side and put some trust in the players. Picking a defensive line up after last night just sends out the wrong mentality. I don't think the mancs are in top form despite their lofty position and we can get at them.
