He's playing very well. He could do a job for us the way Fletcher does for ManU. Neither are especially gifted and have taken stick from fans in the past, but both do a vital job in midfield by harrying opponents and coming up with the odd assist. Or in Lucas' case, is beginning to do a vital job. I hope this is a good season for him, he seems like a likeable lad and always gives it his best and NEVER hides unlike some. Would like to see him become a success at Liverpool.

It doesn't matter how many flops Ferguson signs, since his team are always either challenging for or winning the top trophies. It's a bit dense to criticise his signings when they're helping him to win titles.

He's turning it around but I'm still far from convinced. The 2nd half today typifies Hodgson. We were so much in control yet he clearly orders the team to back off. Okay it got us the win but we got a few lucky breaks. If Rou told the team to keep pressing and attacking in the 2nd half we could have finished them, instead we had to endure such a frustrating 2nd half where Chelsea were given the freedom of Anfield.

I'm with Harry on this one. Everyone knows the decision to award Nani's goal was scandalous and would never have happened anywhere but Old Trafford. Redknapp called it correctly when interviewed so if the FA punish him for expressing an honest and reasonable opinion then what is the point in talking to the media at all?

Italy is the best place for him. If we can recoup the money we spent on him that would be brilliant business. He seems a fairly talented player and he did have a few moments when he was here but I don't see where he would play in this current team, and I have doubts of him being a long term success.

Ridiculous attitude. How can you have mixed feelings about us scoring a winning goal? Any normal supporter would feel elated to see us win an away game that has traditionally been so difficult. I find it shocking that some fans would prefer to see us lose just to criticise the manager!

I think we're steadily improving. We were good against Blackburn and while we weren't great vs Bolton, we showed a lot of heart to win that game. Let's be honest, away to Bolton is not a fixture which we ever find easy to win, so props to Hodgson and the team for getting a result there. We're still mid-table form at best though, and I don't see that changing unless we (a) replace the manager with a genuinely good candidate, not overrated muppets like Rijkaard, or (b) spend heavily and wisely in January. I don't see either happening to be honest!
