He better bloody go t**s up in the Euros or everyone else will be giving us loads about ditching him as Manager. Dont even want to contemplate that scenario.
That's exactly the problem, in my opinion, and why I also think we'll win this by a slender margin. Totally agree that the players will view this as a "big" game coupled with the bollicking they'll presumably have had after Wigan and I reckon we'll win. Who's at fault though for the team not being up for 'smaller' games? - the players themselves or motivation from the Manager and coaching staff. Really does my head in, this topsy turvy carry-on.
My bro in law, a Spurs fan, was talking to me the other night about this and he was going with the 'well Suarez was inconsistent and he's therefore guilty' line. My other bros in law don't really care either way but those neutrals who have commented reckon he's guilty and there's no talking to them. Pi**ing me off this!
It does look like they are putting themselves in a position to punish Suarez (not so sure how they'll deal with Terry, mind) bearing in mind that the league issues a statement (rightly) condemning racism in all its forms the day after Suarez is charged for 'alleged' comments.
To be honest, that's exactly what I am expecting in work, if it happens, with 2 Man U fans, a Leeds fan and a Blackburn fan near me. The Blackburn fan seems to particularly revel in this carry-on for some reason.
Was talking to my Dad ( a neutral) yesterday about the Liverpool result vs Wolves and he said "Kenny is great with the press whereas he might not be so good a manager" whereas "Hodgson is a good manager whereas he isnt very good with the press". I couldnt believe it - just said "I aint getting into this and if you cant say something nice then say nothing at all". Why are LFC (and now WBFB) fans the only ones to see through this fraud?
Went around to my mother in law's place for the match (for dinner) and my sister in law and her hubbie (both Spurs fans) were there. I said to my wife on the way around "this is always a disaster when 'they' are there". Sure enough, complete disaster. When the 3rd Spurs goal went in and I had himself and herself either side of me on the couch, I just left and went out the back garden to kick a bit of ball around with the kids. Very annoying day.
I was watching Soccer Saturday yesterday afternoon with my brother in law (a Chelsea supporter) and I was complaining about not being awarded a penalty for the handball, when I got the usual "it all evens itself over the course of the season" response followed up with the "well you guys scored a goal that 'never was' against Chelsea in 2005".
It's still horrible to read those quotes even if he is, thankfully, long gone. My Dad still reckons that Hodgson got a hard time and Rafa was the reason for our decline. He's a neutral but it angers me that people blame Rafa (rather than G+H and/or Hodgson) for our decline.
