Stats normally are. It´s just how you perceive them and use them for the bigger picture. We could just look at the smaller one and knee jerk and expect to be in the top 4, challenging Chelsea, listen to the media or other teams supporters and sack Rodgers as his philosophy just isn´t working and we´re not where we should be or we could realistically take stock and concentrate where we´re heading and what possibly could happen in the future of our club. I for one am on board with this philosophy and hope it reeps its rewards.

I´d prefer you total the points up at the end of season and take into consideration perhaps we need to take a step backwards to take more forward.

Why not? We´re a work in progress. Stoke were Stoke. Mason was Mason and we were unlucky. We´ve been scoring quite freely lately just conceding as well and based on the Stoke and Mason factors I´m not too downhearted. Peeved but I can see we´re going in the right direction and I like the way we´re playing and dominating. I see us getting better and adding the penetration to our game sooner rather than later. The result wasn´t what we all wanted of course but there should still be positivity.

Yeah of course every football season runs at ratios. Lets just end the season now and accumulate the points based on your formula. Perfect at least we avoid relegation.

Defo worth keeping for 2 games a season as would any striker with his physical presence. Physical presence with mobility and quality movement tho would be good. Know any?

Shelvey on, Gerrard up top. Assaidi on for his trickery. Downing on at LB for more attacking width. But yeah sparse! The first 11 easily picks itself now. The only decision will always be Sterling or Assadi to start depending on how the latter does and when to sparingly use Sterling.

TBH I´m confused. Why sanction the deals for Allen and Borini for 15m and 10m but not an extra million or 2 for Dempsey or at least have a back up! Crazy! Though we do have a reputation of being taken as easy rides in the transfer market whereas teams like Spurs seemingly always get reasonably good deals for players. Perhaps just perhaps we´re just planning for the long term trying to get a reputation for being hard bargainers and won´t be taken for a ride anymore which means in the short term we´ll miss out on a deal or 3 but longer term aim is that in future we´ll be looking at better deals. Hopefully everyone stays fit our youth team get a run out in the league cup and we buy someone in Jan. Clutching at straws?
