A lot of people are talking about the stadium investment, saying that if they aren't going to invest in the stadium they shouldn't be welcome, because it is necessary to generate the revenue to compete with other clubs. From what I understand from interviews with Ayres (linked from this site) the club has a huge operating profit and the only reason we haven't been able to re-invest this into players is the leveraged buy out!! I am more than happy to see investors clear (most of) the debt on the club and, as they say, get a feel for the club before committing to a stadium investment. That being said, hopefully such a prudent approach to the take-over will be an indication of the type of business these people like to run, and so we should be away laughing in a few years: manageable debt, player investment and healthy operating profit, with investment in a stadium (not ground-share, please) imminent-ish. We can't expect too much, but to me it sounds like the right noises are being made. Also agree that CP and Ayres should be given a clean slate/shot, and RH.. Even though I wish rafa hadn't been forced out, it doesnt' seem to make sense to hound out another manager so early in his reign. But we'll see.
