  1. I'd respect him a bit more if he handed in a transfer request Quite why the f*** he should expect to get a pay off of his outstanding contract is beyond me How much would we have to pay him for him being disturbed?
  2. Madrid have all the time and will be happy to sit back and see Suarez ratchet up the pressure on the club which is exactly the purpose of these interviews. I expect them to eventually bid for the player but it wont be for anything near the £40m cash some are expecting. I dont expect us to accept either. So i guess we will be in interesting territory at the start of next season. I wouldn't rule out the possibility of more controversy if we force him to stay either. Question is what is best for the club? Madrid are trying to play the same game with Bale, unlike Suarez, Bale seems to be keeping his gob shut
  3. Is this sarcasm? I cant tell these days I despair about Suarez I really do
  4. We have a problem with Suarez that a few people are reluctant to see out of affection. He clearly has ambitions we can not match, not now, not maybe for another couple of seasons perhaps. If he stays out of a feeling of loyalty he wont be half the player we know he can be because forced loyalty is no good if your heart and head lie elsewhere If he stays he will be a target for every player, every fan, every pundit / journalist who doesn't want players like Suarez in our game and then there's Luis himself. He has a 10 game ban for biting, if he loses it again we know the punishment will be heavier because it Suarez. As good a player as he is, the club as a whole is punished when he's not playing and this then becomes a liability. The issue is, do you believe he can behave now? if he doesn't, do you believe that the FA goaded by the press will give him a fair hearing? I dont on either account I think its time to part our separate ways - I hope we can find a replacement and I hope the fella finds a more forgiving league
  5. He's a bit pally with Brendan though isn't he
  6. Seem to remember Rick CoCo Parry getting the same plus ca change, plus c'est la meme chose
  7. Thats not the same thing and Luis departure will not be because Ayre decided to sell him. It will be because Luis demanded to go Stop twisting the argument
  8. Sorry but isnt this exactly what the club put out a couple of days ago ie 'we expect him to honour his contract' and denying the existence of a buy out clause
  9. My fear is that this will be played out all summer. They are quite clearly playing games already with agent/third party briefings
  10. I'd prefer it if he'd said it was down to the crap unaccountable and corrupt refereeing personally f***
  11. Yeah but it might cost them a champions league place so i can understand his reaction mariners the ref
  12. They are also extremely expensive to watch
  13. Tempted to agree but this could have unintended consequence - it might provoke sanctions from uefa if the fa's rules are challenged in this manner
  14. We are fighting a battle we can not win - unless we change the fa's disciplinary rules or move to a different league or set up a new league he will have to serve the ban - perhaps the club could retaliate against the fa by withdrawing from all non compulsory initiatives - though this too would be counter productive and a pr catastrophe. In short we are f***ed. There is no point turning against the club or the owners, they didn't write the fa's rules nor for that matter bite the opponent.
  15. If he gets a substantial ban whats the point? you have to factor other things in here. The club cant keep on defending him. Ithink this is going to be taken out of our hands anyway
  16. A ban which will be very lengthy if imposed
  17. This content is not viewable to guests.,This content is not viewable to guests.
  18. I'd be bothered. Its costing us a small fortune as it is Sacking a manager after a season is frankly ukip
  19. a tweet he later deleted, i think, which then provoked further speculation about his intentions from some journalists. Not that they need much encouraging
  20. Djemba Djemba There was a report I heard on 5 live a few months ago - basically FFP is really only to ensure that the smaller / medium sized clubs don't over extend themselves, the likes of Madrid City and Chelsea will be completely unaffected by it.
  21. Yeah ok, it was like verbal diarrhea granted
  22. No, we slaughtered Hodgson because of who he replaced, who appointed him, because it was backed by the english press, because he was old school and because after years of mediocrity he didnt believe he needed to change his basic philosophy which was as archaic as he was Thats why he was slaughtered
  23. This I dont agree with the negativity. The sniping after half a season of a new manager is absolutely jaw dropping. I think its time to drop the past and get behind whats happening now. Alternatively we could force the manager out, start a war of attrition with the owners and start slagging each other off all over again. Yay
  24. This is going to rebound on someone horribly. I want to see how good this lad is next season before he gets a second tier salary and a 3 to 5 yr contract. If his advisers/family think his development will be better served at City or Chelsea with a massive contract and the pressure and level of expectation that comes with that fair f***s to them. The warning signs are there, I'd be surprised if the club are not pointing this out. Hopefully signing young players on massively increased contracts is a lesson we've learnt from the Carroll debacle. No one is going to profit if we bow to his advisers demands and he struggles next season because we expect a senior player level of performance from someone who still has a massive amount to learn from the game.
  25. Different players, in very different sides, in different times - how do you begin to compare? Dalglish was gifted but had the benefit of gifted players around him. Gerrard has not always had the same luxury. Both were pivotal to the success of the club in their respective era's. If I had to commit to one or the other it would have to be Dalglish no disrespect to Gerrard.
