  1. The question may as well be 'who do you support - Liverpool or Benitez?' I think its clear whats going on here
  2. Sorry to be pedantic but you have used a question mark to follow a statement Incorrect use of grammar that tsk tsk
  3. I could say those would be seasons where we finished 35 points and 20 points behind the champions but that would be extremely childish and beneath me - we did win a cup though, if i remember but still depends which part of the selective memory you wish to apply
  4. Thats it in one, thanks mate Its not about the result at all is it
  5. You wouldn't think we all supported the same club would you
  6. Thats a s*** of a comment based on what exactly?, presumably the fact that he's dodged getting involved in boardroom politics ergo he's a yes man Of course spending half your time creating ructions with those above you is in every managers terms and conditions I really really despair of the utterly destructive, childish and frankly pig ignorant views expressed tonight This is not about Hodgson, this is all about St Benitez, lock stock and f***ing barrel and its going to continue until the t*** brigade finish their petty agenda's and can officially print their "i told you so" T shirts meanwhile, elsewhere rome burns That said I agree with the first post
  7. Withdrew the comment the tart analogy is catching
  8. We can cherry pick f*** ups all night from both sides, but calling any experienced premiership manager tactically inept is a bit of a t***tish habit some have Before this gets out of hand, the manager isnt tactically inept and neither was Benitez Can we now stop behaving like a bunch of hormonal tarts please
  9. I looked and then i remembered, we're football fans not philosophers
  10. and all this based on his first two matches for us in the premiership smashing
  11. or perhaps give him a chance ?
  12. Could you expand on that comment just for interest actually don't bother
  13. It wasnt a defence for Benitez so it shouldnt be a defence for Hodgson. A big improvement must come from the manager, but he needs to be given time
  14. Hodgson's second premiership match and its plain that we have closed minds already, minds that were probably closed and empty 2 months ago Cant wait for the T Shirts
  15. Couldn't agree more Just once, just once I'd love to see a club do that to a top flight player on a huge contract We'd be accused of "slavery" though
  16. Well it boils down to judgement on what Huang says was true and what was said for pr - thats not a criticism of him, its something we all expect but i think anfield road is not in a position to know either so their prognosis of impending doom is a bit premature As for Gillett it wouldn't surprise me to learn that he isn't actively engaged in trying to destabilise a process which he fears may rob him of an opportunity of making some profit, pity him, but then again that doesn't mean that he is in a position to be successful and what i find greatly encouraging up to now is the fact that he hasn't found a way. He's run out of options, if a legal challenge was credible why has he been silent, why has the authority and legitimacy of the process not been challenged now before the board has made the decision
  17. Just cracked on to that myself and read his other posts - not your every day RAWK poster by a long shot Nothing he has said is revealing in the sensationalist sense of the ITK but its language couched in the air of someone who knows alot more than most of us and his views on Evans are guarded but bang on the money Its easy to agree with someone who generally holds the same view but its nonetheless good positive input and convinces me anyway
  18. b******s (disclaimer**probably**disclaimer) Why - Huangs own words in an interview given 3 or 4 days ago when he stated himself that there were other bids as strong as his and he was only 50% sure of success Its a dirty world out there Gilletts involvement i could well believe
  19. but on what grounds is there any evidence to suggest that the pair will refinance or are genuinely chasing for it. I couldn't rule it out but they tried for months before putting us up for sale and failed, how has their own financial position changed since to the extent that they will now find a financial institution to back them. It strikes me that these are more likely scare stories to induce the board to sell quickly and perhaps inadvisably. We need to see this process through and it really has got to be done right. I honestly believe Hicks and Gillett are now out the equation if the other board members remain solid We arent f***ed, at least not yet, we have six weeks and bids remain on the table
  20. Yes its guesswork on my part. I thought the post generally reflects that, unlike the esteemed "in the knows" I simply base my opinions on observations, commonsense and gut feeling The withdrawal of the bid at such a late stage does require some examination though, and is somewhat in keeping with the rather chaotic manner in which it has been proposed and supported/ If Huang was genuine and had a real desire to own the club, bailing out at this stage deserves more qualification than the terse statement we've had to-date. Huang may have been absolutely genuine, when I heard CIC had disinvested stocks to the precise value of the bid offer i certainly sat up and took it more seriously but so much else rang alarm bells including the nature of his prompt departure Nothing is clear, nothing is likely to become clear so all of us are operating in a void what part of the phrase " for me it explains " gives credence to the accusation that i am claiming that its anything other than an assumption on my part I was under the impression that the point of a forum was the exchange of views and opinions Do i now need to enter every post i make with an official disclaimer
  21. Play it tight and go for a point, in terms of organisation City are a mess but they have real talent and they will be a serious threat particularly at home. Its a big test for them so a draw will be two points dropped on their aspirations. I'd like to think we will win but at the moment I'll settle for a point on which to continue to build a positive momentum
  22. Huang is ambitious and a deal maker, just by being associated with the sale of this club can do him no harm in either capacity. Personally I think his involvement was a bit deeper in that he genuinely saw a business opportunity and wanted to put in a bid for the sale of the club. Unlike others I think the consortium was not as solid as he had hoped and interest within the consortium has not materialized into anything more solid. For me it would explain a) Why he has taken so much time to provide definitive evidence of funding and why there is so much lack of clarity in the funding sources within the consortium b) Why he has been so aggressive in pursuit of the bid trying to force the board to accept his bid in the hope that once his bid was successfull he could then firm up the backing he sought from the interested parties A speculative bid but destined to fail because the board refused to buckle to pressure from him, his pr company and their advocates and his friends in the press Good luck to him in his other projects, but his bid was messy, dysfunctional and contradictary because there was no substance
  23. II dont think "ratcheting up" pressure on the board is very helpful given everything that has transpired. I think the Board are actually doing us fine at the moment, they've beaten off an attempt by the vermin to refinance and they are currently sorting out the proper bids from the chancers What i find incredible given the whole recent history of the club and the disasterous sale last time round through the lack of diligence, is criticism of the board for not falling over themselves to accept one particularly verbal and threatening bidder whose bid is shrouded in confusion and retractions of facts, whose true funding source is still not completely verifiable and who seems to think that a serious bid should be accepted at the end of a barrel Broughton has been subject to a lot of silly criticism particularly at the start but from day one he is the only person in this whole sad undignified process who has been solid and consistent. Let him see the process through Then flame him for it
  24. Of course there are other credible bids on the table other than the chinese one ...... or have we forgot
  25. I know i'm being pedantic but proposed bids are not formal bids if, as seems to be the drift of the article, the bidders have not yet provided evidence of their capacity to fund the bid. Thats not what I would call a detail. On the strength of what most professional sources are saying I really dont think we are anywhere as close as our ITKs would have us believe and Huangs own comments about being 50% sure of success is again consistent with this line.. we are some way away yet from having a deal
