    We became Livarpool in the eyes of fans of other clubs, and it’s a sound bite that stuck regardless of evidence that suggests it is nonsense. And I wouldn’t put it past PGMOL to approach us with the mindset that everyone thinks these are Livarpool, so we best do what we can not to feed into that narrative. That and the little c*** who wrote Klopp that letter telling him to stop winning so many games. We never recovered from that.

    if you have the desire to manage Liverpool you don’t knock back an opportunity that may not come up again. Could be wide of the mark, but I wouldn’t be surprised if Real were in touch to tell Xabi to hold fire for the Madrid job when Carlo is done.

    As good as Kelleher was for his spell in goal, I’m hopeful that having Alisson back gives us more chance to not concede the early goal. if we restrict them to nil, we just need something to click upfront. obviously Palace is an exception, but hopefully we’ve at least learned not to leave someone unmarked 4 yards out since then.

    They have also benefited from getting the f*** out of the domestic cups as quickly as possible. They played 11 games from Jan to the March international break. We had 18 in the same period. Obviously it’s a step change for them now in terms of having many more midweek games to contend with, but they will be fairly fresh in terms of minimal miles in their legs thus far. We’ve got to hope if they do falter it’s in a league game, but it’s equally likely that their off day comes in the CL.

    We wouldn’t have got Coventry in the semi if we got through. Magic ball for Man United. We’d have got City, and Chelsea in the final again. And none can be arsed with that.

    Very much saying this in hindsight, why not do Tsimikas for Robertson instead of switching Gomez to left back? If that was us in the same numbers singing Munich it’s never being ignored like they are…

    John Brooks on VAR. He definitely has a problem with us. The Virgil red at Newcastle, the Villa players’ studs on Gakpo’s chest last season. Sure there will be more examples as well.

    Re Bernardo Silva, can’t help but have begrudging respect for his c***ishness. The non-effort for the guard of honour at their place after we’d won the league was brilliantly petulant in fairness.

    We should be asking for the audio for the rest of the game now. At least the Jones red card decision, given that VAR upgraded it from yellow to red.

    This is just the tip of the iceberg, must be loads more like this where it’s been swept under the carpet. This is just the first time the error was so blatant to the point they’ve had to release the audio because of how bad it was.
