What I saw from the last part of the previous season was a player starting to turn the corner, dedicated and hard working. Maybe those traits aren't important in the modern game, I don't know. Your criticisms of his game are valid to an extent, but I believe he should have a chance to prove himself.

Perhaps, but I think Carroll can do a similar job in a similar system. There is more to his game than heading long balls.

Hoofing the ball won't get the best out of Carroll either. He was able to use Danny Graham within his system successfully, why not Carroll?
