The problems we have are deeper than most people realize. After two or three years of negative transfer funding, we are left with only a shadow of the team that came second two seasons ago. The dilemma we now have, is that we don't have funding to buy six or so new high quality players, while still paying the ones we need to move on.(until we move them) also, the new players probably wont be eligible to play in the Europa League for us this year, even if we could afford them. This would require us to play our kids, or have a hugely inflated squad, as the Europa cup is our last chance of silverware this season, and if I remember correctly, we exsist to win trophies. Our decline didn't happen overnight, and it won't be corrected overnight either. The best we will see is a slow but steady return to the upper levels of the PL,over the next two or three years. There is no magic wand. And this only if NESV follow up on their promises.
