Yes Souness was a great player for us. One ofthe best we have ever had.

His main problem was a lack of pace

Although Pepe is my favourite player at the moment, he is the best since Clem. Clem is the no 1 for me, although my dad always said it was Elisha.

Class player, would like him playing for us, but it wont happen like henry..........

Whilst I accept he is improving and remains one for the future, anyone who beiieves he is similar to TMc at the mo is off their heads. let him develop and reassess at the end of the season

Agree fully with that analysis, been saying the same thing for years.

I think he will prove to be a good signing. Remember the best teams are not always the best players. It's all about the mix and pattern of play. Our trouble for years has been getting up for the cold winter away fixture. Hopefully the purchases will plug that problem. We can go for the extra class when we are back challenging. If we are done we go into the season with a better team better squad better manager and better owners than last year. Reasons to be optimistic in my view.

I have liked Billy for 20 odd years (he used to kip on me mates floor when gigging in Liverpool) funny how the 80s leftie is relevant today. Economic cycles and all that. For you young guys get on to itunes and get educated.

Like the optimism however 3/4 th is a realistic target, 2nd would be unbelievable and to win it beyond wildest dreams. Take one game at a time and lets see where we are come easter. Years ago we used to say our basic expectation was to qualify for Europe, now its top 4. Sit back and enjoy we are over the worst and on the way back but don't fool ourselves that it will be easy.

Seems to me like a last ditch attempt to put pressure on the council and others to see if we can re-develop Anfield, otherwise we are "forced" to go for the more expensive and potentially more unpopular choice of a new stadium. Heads we win tails we blame someone else.

True we only win it with a jock in the team. Hope he is a good omen! Fingers crossed.
