    Coutinho

Calls himself an agent, coming out with stuff like that. He needs to have a word with Aidy Ward, find out what he should be sayin'.
  2. Klipp follows Klopp
  3. Agreed. My concern is that, as others have said, removing Rodgers alone won't deal with all our problems. I would guess that a Klopp or Ancelotti will not take the job under the existing structure of transfer committees and the like, they would want greater control of footballing affairs. Which would require FSG to get rid of a manager and substantially change their approach. Are they prepared to do this? I wish I could be optimistic.
  4. in fairness, we're looking more threatening than them.
  5. Things are getting serious for Rodgers I'm afraid
  6. Ah, it's a play on rotisserie is it? That's a bit of a stretch.
  7. I look back at the sending off against Basel as a turning point for him. Played with some fire in his belly that night and was looking useful before the red card. Never seemed to hit the same level again afterwards.
  8. Great, could the thread title be changed again Preferably not back to Leivanaissance or whatever it was...
  9. Indeed, Henderson too I guess. Just seems like we have suddenly realised shifting out our best DM may not be a great move, which many on here have been saying for weeks. True could be, and wouldn't blame him, Brendan seems to have been lukewarm on Lucas for a while now.
  10. If it's accurate, this is a little concerning. On Monday Lucas in a way did no more or less than we, and presumably Rodgers, know him to be capable of - deliver a good defensive midfield performance: So nothing's changed there. If it's due to Henderson's injury, then prior to that we would have been one injury away from wanting to have Lucas available, which must have been obvious to Rodgers too. So I can't quite see the logic of suspending the move at this point (although I'm glad if he's not going).
  11. Nope, Express has us signing him to fill the void left by Balotelli
  12. Preben Elkjaer?
  13. My thoughts exactly.
  14. Bloody 'ell. Go Alberto.
  15. What happened to Hendo?
  16. I'm still optimistic Lallana will step up this season. Stoke away as first game of season was always likely to be more about scrappy result than fluent attacking performance. May be truth to the view above that he's less suited to away games where we break with pace, or he just needs to play it earlier. He's too good to just fade away into occasional sub. I hope.
  17. Yeh I do see this, he appears to have had an troubled background which has left its mark, and im not one who thinks that because players are on massive money they should be immune to human flaws. He hasnt helped himself though - no effort, no contrition, no real engagement as a Liverpool player in the time he's been here.
  18. Sadly his signing has turned out as many of us expected. Still staggers me that some seem to have a sympathetic view of this player, and even blame Rodgers for his attitude and performances last season.
  19. Not sure that's wise unless we have a replacement coming in before window closes. Despite Can's abilities and performance when he came on yesterday, Lucas is our only experienced DM.
  20. He certainly didn't look out of plaice when he came on.
  21. It's going to be really weird starting a season without Stevie. Such a presence for so long.
  22. Yeh I'm head and heart going into the new season. Think we have the potential to do what you say, with one of the best front lines in the league (only Man City excepted). There's a nagging feeling that we're going to be opened up too easily again, but I'm trying to drown that out and just look forward to what could be a very enjoyable season...
  23. Hope you're right but not convinced they would give us the solidity we've been missing the last couple of seasons. Despite last season, I don't have any concerns about Rodgers ability to create an effective attacking unit. I think his reign will live or die this season based on whether we can keep goals out effectively. That said I'm as ever v excited and optimistic about the season to come...!
