  1. Feck sake, who's our compliance guy? Do we have a compliance guy? I'll be the compliance guy.
  2. https://www.theguardian.com/football/2017/jun/30/chelsea-roma-antonio-rudiger-talks Chelsea sorting another centre half.
  3. Indeed, to be fair to moreno (through gritted teeth) he's decent going forward and could do a job in a more advanced role for a team thats willing to cough for him. Dont want to see him play for us again though.
  4. Main problem with Moreno is he's rubbish.
  5. It's all going to sh*t
  6. Yes, this appears from the outside to be the problem. Nobody in the club who has proper high level experience of doing transfer deals. Michael Edwards' background and expertise seems to be in performance analysis and the like. Does this make him qualified to head up the deal-making? Possibly not. Is that what he's doing though? Dont know, I'm sure there are better informed people on here who can say. The buck clearly stops with FSG though. They are responsible for the process (if any...) we follow to conduct transfers, and putting in place the right people to do this well. They've clearly failed at this in a massive way that potentially does real damage to our club.
  7. I would like to be one of those who think that this is not finished yet, that statement isnt the end of it etc. Reckon this is exactly what it appears to be though, a complete and utter c**k up of our biggest ever transfer, with a humiliating climb down, and no way back. Quite how supposedly professional people can engineer this disaster is just beyond my comprehension. Needs to be a serious reckoning after this.
  8. I believe Klopp when he says he isn't interested in spending v large amounts of money to build a team, that he would rather grow one by developing players. In this way he's perfect for FSG who don't want to spend for less admirable reasons. In todays's football world though the odds are against this being successful on a regular basis. Spending power will generally prevail. In this sense his objectives and those of the fans (largely, do whatever it takes to win) could diverge over time.
  9. Good performance. Now for the tougher game next week...

    Coutinho

5 will always be deeper lying midfielder for me. 6 is central defender. Anything else and we're setting ourselves up for confusion on the pitch...
  11. Further evidence that whoever (sing or pl) was responsible for deciding at the start of the season and in January that our clearly thin squad was sufficient, needs some serious questions asking of them. Groundhog day to say it but the long term ambitions of the owners and manager will be revealed this summer.
  12. Been away now to rest of top 5 and everton*. Still massively in it. Beat chelsea and put together a 2nd half of season run like we've done in recent years. We can do this. *Apart from City who are falling apart.
  13. Bloody 'ell bit pessimistic here. We've had a slight dropping off of form but we're still a cracking side under Klopp, and we'll be up for this. They've had a decent run but they're not nearly as good as the media seem to be making out. Odds I saw earlier had us at nearly 3-1 to win this. Don't make me laugh.
  14. Balls. Does no one in this league have any backbone.
  15. It wasn't me, though that bloke could've been channeling a few of us muttering something similar... In retrospect Houghton was a good player in a great team, and suffered by comparison with the rest of the front six. He really used to wind me up at the time though...
  16. I was never a huge fan of Houghton so you'll find no argument here...
  17. V different type of player to Houghton
  18. Our players need to look at themselves, do their talking on the pitch and give 110% until the end of the season. All we can do is win our games, we can't control what chelsea do... We can give them a kicking at anfield mind.
  19. Quite right. I've never seen any of those teams go in at half time 0-0 with a team in the bottom half.
  20. There was me thinking it was half time... 2 points dropped today! Grr, we're rubbish!
  21. Wish I could be that relaxed about it. You can't just classify 2 out of 11 players as unimportant, make do with the average, and still hope to challenge for titles at the highest level. Europa cup final demonstrated the result of having a defender that can't defend. Klopp may think Moreno's not that bad (!) but he can't think him not important.
  22. Thought so...in that case It's definitely on. Wijnaldum, Mane and err Klavan to combine for first goal of season at Arsenal. We go on record unbeaten run and win title by a country mile...
  23. Wasn't some work being done on Anfield at start of 87/88 season too? Or is my memory playing up...
