Young seems to have a pattern of trying to beat his full back, failing and losing the ball, then fouling defender so opposition can clear their lines. Does my 'ead in.

True but there's: i want to play every game, best for the team etc, and: ronaldo might score while im out. Not sure the latter is a great message for the squad.

For me old school is a curt 'doesn't mean anything if we don't win', end of discussion. Dont think a captain should be showing any reluctance to be rested so he can pursue some trivial gong.

I hate the golden bloody boot, when did it become such a major but still largely meaningless fecking thing, which pundits and even players, and more specifically harry fecking kane (who lets not forget is the captain of the Team), bang on about incessantly? Load of s***e. You were drawn in the same group as panama you spud, get over yourself.

Had thought Kane seemed alright, but hard not to notice he bangs on a lot about winning Golden Boots. Most players still emphasise more the team winning is most important. While he's scoring ok, but likely to lead to selfish decisions over time and has a higher shot per goal ratio than many other top scorers in the league.

V good game. Enjoying this WC so far. Trend of fast attacking football seems to be feeding into this competition in parts. Interesting to see Germany come up against it and not handle it too well.

Clear pen for rugby tackle at corner. Been loads of similar in other games that's not been given though.
