Well it's near 50 years ago and i was only 12,my memory is hazy but i do seem to recall he announced it exclusively in one of the sunday rags
What a pass from Gerrard to set that one up.
At least with Keegan he gave us a years notice,no pissing about, made it clear he wanted to go abroad, which was unusual back then. And his final season we were a fookin spawny deflected goal away from the treble,he was great.
Another s*** show of a members sale this morning..took me three hours to get in ...loads of reports of unique links not working etc...good look to those due in tomorrow's one
Just got in the ground, huge queues at W turnstiles ,which is unusual for 2:10pm for a 3pm KO.dont know if there were turnstile malfunctions or they were having a clampdown and checking tickets .
Remember being in the Anny Road end for a game against Norwich around 1974, battered them for 90 minutes then Ted McDougall went one on one with Clemence at the Kop end.Ray saved ,we attacked, Callaghan cross to Cormack with a great header 1-0. Don't see diving header experts like he was nowadays .RIP
Just in the ground, W turnstiles.A guy standing to the right of one of them letting fans in via his phone. Was having trouble with one of them and I heard the steward quizzing the ones who got in on why all the tickets were on the one phone.
Worrying today that there was still nearly 25 minutes left when they scored and there was no Alamo, they looked more likely to add a second than us drawing level. Some shockingly poor performances out there. Crowd was pancake flat as well, only roused for a nice tribute to Big Ron at the start.
