He was very good. And he kept Carroll under control on a couple of occasions, kept him out of the equation by simply blocking him. Clever defending from him on the crosses I thought Good with the ball and calm. We've missed that. One of the better players tonight for me.

We should have won this. I'm very impressed with some of the performances of the kids. Coutinho and Sturridge look sharp and it's good to see Origi and Benteke again too. It was never a freekick. I'm off to revel in the pleasure of the Mignonettes.

Not sure it will but If teammates know what a player will do in a given situation and make the right runs to receive the pass or create space he looks less s***. I think some of the times he loses the ball it's been quite clever passes that would have looked a lot better if someone was expecting them. It's happened quite a few times for him and it drags the impression of him down is all I'm trying to say and I seem to notice it more often with him. It may be because I'm cutting him slack because I think he can become very good for us. That said I'm not blown away by him either, but he showed what he is capable of against City so I remain hopeful.

They all were. The only two moments of the game I vaguely remember were passes from Firmino. One was to Smith and he was imo one of our best. He's a good player, once the rest of the team gets to 'know him' he'll be fine.

I didn't think he was very good today, but there is that. Good to be in 'the f*** do I know' position again. Probably was never out of it. Firmly in it now. Wich is cool, ja? Still I was surprised he stayed on, as he gets forced to play it backwards to often to get out of pressure caused by himself by bringing the ball into tight areas instead of switching play or turning forwards, wich I loved seeing Ibe doing sucsessfully a few times tonight btw. I thought he was bringing danger closer to home by using to much time on the ball when we were high up in the opposing half, either by looking for an easy way out by playing it backwards or by playing it into areas where the best thing we could hope for was a throw. Too much risk and too little possible gain for me at the moment. Maybe it's a pace thing, technically he is ace. And pressing wise even better. Just needs to shift the ball earlier and with lower risk.

This "We Believe" thing has gotten out of hand when it comes to Sturridge. Not aimed at anyone in particular btw. Sturridge is potentially our best player, love that we have him back.
