  1. Not sure about that. Bale always had outstanding natural ability. I watched him tear apart a good Brazil side at White Hart Lane (Wales vs Brazil friendly) about 6 years ago. You could tell he was going to be a very special even back then. I don't particularly get that feeling with Henderson.
  2. I agree with your general point, but Parker isn't a great example, imo. He was an excellent player at Charlton, far more dynamic than he is now, went to Chelsea at the wrong time (like Glen) and struggled. He then suffered from one or two serious injuries and had to adapt his game to compensate for the loss of pace and mobility.
  3. He#d thrive at Stoke and Crouch would bring the best out of Suarez. Swap deal bonanzatastic.
  4. The guy has been done over in the legal version the 'current climate' that the F.A. seem to practise (also known as a 'Mascheranoism'). The exact same type of comment, or worse, will be posted a few months from now by some other bloke and nothing will come of it.

    Ian Ayre

  6. No great source by any means, just a mate of mine who is familiar with the Spurs set up. Interestingly, when we appointed Damien, he said, "Now see how much money you lot will waste on average British players". There was outright civil war at Spurs during that period. According to my mate (yeah, I know!) Comolli had been speaking with Juande Ramos for maybe months before he was appointed.
  7. Apparently, he had very little (if anything) to do with those transfers.
  8. Damien probably doing the same thing he did with Spurs; spunking money up the wall and then blaming the manager.
  9. Ah ok. I must've still been fuming about the goal to notice. I still reckon he could've finished the game though. Loads round me called it at the time as a bad move and said that they'd equalise. Still, the manager and the medical staff have a better idea of any niggles and muscle tightness the players are carrying, I suppose.

    Kenny

    Lucas.
  11. Yesterday he shirked out of a challenge with their left back in their half when the ball was there to be won. Sorry, didn't have my iPhone out to film it.
  12. Getting stuck in and s***ting out of tackles are two different things. If the ball is there to be won and you're the closest player to it, it is your duty to at least attempt a tackle, not skip out of the way.
  13. Johnson has been unfit for large swathes of the season (and should be starting on the right flank every time, even though he is quality on the left) and Kelly has also suffered from injury. Is Aurelio even fit? Robinson, who looked promising last term, has been out for most of the season and I wouldn't put Flanno on the left. It's the same problem we have all over the pitch. If Gerrard is injured, Adam comes in and is not good enough. If Suarez is injured, we have no backup. If Bellamy is unfit to play, our options are limited. If Lucas is injured, Speo is the only backup. etc etc.
  14. Who said anything about getting rid? It was a comment on a glaring weakness of his and an observation on the decision to sign him in the situation were were in; the need to have players good enough to slot straight into the first team to get back into the CL.
  15. His problem is that he hasn't had a good enough understudy this season to allow Kenny to rest him. A symptom of the G&H era in that our squad was decimated and the quality of our backup players is usually several rungs below our first choice. Horrible mistake for the goal and also had a few dodgy moments in the first half (Kuyt berated him for fannying about with the ball instead of getting rid of it).
  16. s***s out of tackles and hides on the pitch (other players hide too, but this is the Hendo thread). A bizarre signing, imo.
  17. Really? It looked like he was just feeling a bit of pain from being hacked from behind (yet again) if you're talking about the same incident as I am. He was stood no more than 25 yards from me at that point. He still looked like he had enough energy in him to finish the game.
  18. He just doesn't seem to be as incisive as he was last term. I thought he'd really kick on this year and use his superior technique to greater effect. Yeah, he could do with a sub appearance or two. I think he already has a lot more to his game than raw pace though. His touch and technique are top class, he is an excellent finisher, his short passing is really good as is his movement. He makes some really good off the ball runs beyond the strikers. In fact, he reminds me of Maxi Rodriguez, only 100 mph quicker and, well, a lot different...
  19. Meaning?
  20. Sterling is brilliant, but I don't think the others are up to much. Suso hasn't really progressed.
  21. Can anyone confirm what Region this disc is? A friend of mine says it wont play in Europe.

    Spearing

The emergence of Spearing forced Ferguson to promote Cleverly.....
  23. I'm pretty sure I didn't imagine it. I think. There you go.
  24. No, he was complaining to the ref about the lino getting another offside decision wrong and the supposed card-waving gesture was actually Luis waving an imaginary flag. That slo-mo was shown directly after he was deemed offside, if I remember correctly.
  25. What's he ever done for Liverpool?
