Guest Kev Posted February 10, 2007 Posted February 10, 2007 ...many they are going to beat us by over the two legs. If we can't beat the likes of Everton at home and Newcastle away, then seriously we've got no chance. We'll be lucky to finish fourth now.

On a serious note, our last two games have been very frstrating to say the least. Today we need a clam head infront of goal. And as for the subs yet again baffeling!! With the other two winning and the a*** playing tom all i think we can hope for now is fourth.
Fagan Posted February 10, 2007 Posted February 10, 2007 all i think we can hope for now is fourth. Eh...why is that? we are currently 3rd, arsenals form is way worse than ours this season. the worst we can hope for is 4th and 2ns is still not out of reach although 3rd place looking increasingly likely

Bearing in mind we've also beaten Chelsea recently, the form swings both ways. Two legged affairs are a very different proposition from one off league games. With the other two winning and the a*** playing tom all i think we can hope for now is fourth. We're 4 points ahead of Arsenal, I'm not going to start panicking about them catching us just yet.

I cant see us going all the rest of the season unbeaten. While we have been on a good run of form im still not convinced we will win when we take to the field!(chelski at home besides,we all knew wed beat them then) Edited February 10, 2007 by anfieldgaz

anfieldgaz Posted February 10, 2007 Posted February 10, 2007 I cant believe our away form this season lost...........7. Conceded.......16Scored...........15 thats shocking!!!
stressederic Posted February 10, 2007 Posted February 10, 2007 And they have 2 games in hand!!! Games in hand don't equal points in the bag. Arsenal are more then capable of losing again this season.

Jim D Posted February 10, 2007 Posted February 10, 2007 2nd is gone now, we are scrapping for 3rd place with Arsenal. Past two weeks has been very frustrating but the performance and the result today was worse than last week. We gifted the three points today to Newcastle and they won't get an easier three points all season where they do so little in front of goal. Missed chances, lack of quality in finishing and individual errors at the back cost us big time. This game reminded me of the Blackburn game a few weeks ago, but considering Newcastle's backline that game was there for the taking. Absolutely criminal we didn't come away with three points. So gutted, Roeder knows he got out of jail big time, still in disbelief that we lost today. Finnan was our best player, Kuyt and Zenden struggled and Riise was gash.

How often has this been the case for Liverpool this season! We are desperate for an out and out striker who might NOT work his a*** off for the team but who can put the ball in the net on a regular basis..like strikers should!

anfieldgaz Posted February 10, 2007 Posted February 10, 2007 (edited) It's called perspective mate. I call it ppl not allowed to question things when we loose. yes we have been on a good run but the last 2 games should have seen us with 6 points and we get 1. thats frustrating. And ppl making valid points and questioning players/tactics etc is allowed surely, after all it is a forum. Edited February 10, 2007 by anfieldgaz
Nebraska Red Posted February 10, 2007 Posted February 10, 2007 (edited) Barcelona have not exactly been setting the world on fire themselves. Over 2 legs we can get a result if enough of our players actually show up for 90 minutes. In today's game we saw too many players who were not giving 100%, we had 2 players back from injury who looked off the pace of the game, Gerrard was hardly inspiring and we missed a load of chances in the first half. We missed Alonso, we missed having some width on the left, we had Riise offering nothing on the left of our defence and a strange looking subs bench. As much as I am disappointed by this result, it is not cause for Kev's doom and gloom scenario. Edited February 10, 2007 by nebraska red
anfieldgaz Posted February 10, 2007 Posted February 10, 2007 "We need to learn, when you create clear opportunities you need to take them and finish off the game". Rafa's comments after the game.how often have we heard them this season???
Guest Linton Posted February 10, 2007 Posted February 10, 2007 Did you see the same game. Newcastle was lucky to get away with ONE point. Three is just ridicoulous. We were all over them in the first half. Bizarre game and I don't think we are cr@p and that it is the end of the world after this. We will raise our gama against Barca, and I could imagine the likes of Pepe and Xabi playing out of their skin.
