Sir Tokyo Sexwale Posted January 10, 2013 Posted January 10, 2013 Dunno why, but I follow him on Instagram - probably bc I did on twitter & he was hilarious, he's such a div. But looking at his Instagram his life involves beaches, hotels, bars, motorbikes, women, food and generally titting about. Does he no longer go training or play or anything? The b*****d
cymrococh Posted January 10, 2013 Posted January 10, 2013 (edited) I didn't think players were allowed to ride motorbikes. Playas are obviously encouraged to. Edited January 10, 2013 by cymrococh
Sir Tokyo Sexwale Posted January 10, 2013 Author Posted January 10, 2013 that's what I though, but he does seem to be a complete prat (in a nice way Smashie) so wouldn't surprise me. NB, he's just been sitting on them, so may be just posing
épieur Posted January 10, 2013 Posted January 10, 2013 My fondness for babz is evergrowing. One of my alltime favourites by now. Please come back. Twitter hasn't been the same since.
carrafan Posted January 10, 2013 Posted January 10, 2013 West Indian cricketer Kraigg Brathwaite's twitter is brilliant. 140 characters is too many for him. @K_Brathwaite Also, "Horse racing!!" @K_Brathwaite "Beach time!" "Gym!" "Having some shrimp" "Batting time!"

The b*****d winter break in the Dutch league
Ant Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 He is a person who doesn't like football, who found himself actually to be really good at it.
Hassony Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 He can't have been that good at it considering that we had to teach him how to shoot properly
Nathan Explosion Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 Why can't we get a winter break from Macca? Who says you can't? I'll start a poll in the General forum.
Kahnee Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 Who says you can't? I'll start a poll in the General forum. He is a person who doesn't like football, who found himself actually to be really good at it. No, that's Agger. Can see where the confusion came from though...
kop205 Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 He is a person who doesn't like football, who found himself actually to be really good at it. As usual the opposite of what you say is probably closer to the truth.
yellow jumper Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 (edited) rafa benitez claimed he'd been watching him since he was a kid. think alonso picked him as the most skillful player in the squad in one of those soccer am features. more likely he has most of the ability you need, just not all the mentality. Ant Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 (edited) As usual the opposite of what you say is probably closer to the truth. You're a really nice guy who smells like cut grass, in the summer. Edited January 11, 2013 by Aunty-N.W.A
kop205 Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 You're a really nice guy who smells like cut grass, in the summer. What do I smell like when it isn't the summer?
PhilM Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 He can't have been that good at it considering that we had to teach him how to shoot properly He had really good shooting technique. Able to generate loads of power with hardly any backlift. It's just the rest of the skill set required to play football that he lacked.
Woodsyla Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 As usual the opposite of what you say is probably closer to the truth.I think Ant is bang on with this. Babel has so much raw talent it is unreal. It's the rest of it he has found tough, tactics, teamwork, application etc.

Unless by raw talent you just mean ability to run fast and t*** a ball quite hard. Technique wise he wasn't all that, in my opinion.

stressederic Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 Ryan Babel was not very good. As evidence I direct your attention to the performances and Liverpool career of Ryan Babel.
Clay Davis Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 I think Ant is bang on with this. Babel has so much raw talent it is unreal. It's the rest of it he has found tough, tactics, teamwork, application etc.Don't think he has much raw talent at all. It's not as though his touch or technique is brilliant or anything. He's an average player with a bit of pace.

He's an average player with a bit of pace. Worse: he's an average player with a bit of pace but no idea how to use it. He might as well not have the pace at all
Foo Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 Brainless as a player and not the desire to improve. Should have been better than he has turned out to be so far.
Benzo-13 Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 Wonder what would've happened had we got Malouda instead like was originally planned.
