Wilkommen Christian 2000 - Christian Ziege completed his protracted signing from Middlesbrough for £5.5m. He had spent one successful season at the Riverside, netting seven times in 34 appearances. Jan the man 1984 - Midfield maestro Jan Mølby signed from Ajax for £200,000. He struck 61 times in 292 reds appearances, including a remarkable forty of his 42 attempted spot-kicks.
